Being a Teacher I would like to hear whet Maggie has to say about this (That is if she wishes to)

Re: Dinner lady giving biscuit to boy seen as Grooming.
hmm..it is the world we live in
I wouldn't chat in an overly friendly manner at work..in case it is misconstrued Sigh..bring back the old days..when you could chat a girl up..and all you risked was a slap in the face. Where you could (as a child) offer a fellow child a lick of your lolly..and all you risked was the greedy bugger not giving it back Where you could play with your marbles..and not be asked to take your hands out of your pockets while doing it :D |

Not that I couldn't express myself but forum rules dictate that I don't let you have both barrels.Just imagine a paragraph of expletives allied with a Victor Meldrew turn of expression and you might just hit the mark.;) Suffice to say that teachers can at times be just as stupid and unthinking as the rest of the population. |

The sad thing is a child can go through the first 7 years of schooling and get no male input at all and it's not until secondary school that they get the male input. This might not seem a big issue but in the case of single parent families(mothers) a male teacher can be a good role model to disaffected male students. |

Its so stupid, when i was in the last year of school the music teacher, myself and my dad were close friends and he used to give me a lift home because i was bullied. Now he wouldnt legally be allowd to do this at all. this was only back in 1998.
|
Re: Dinner lady giving biscuit to boy seen as Grooming.
I am not aware of any laws preventing a teacher giving a child a lift home.

Re: Dinner lady giving biscuit to boy seen as Grooming.
yep there are, they r not even allowd now to give one on one tutoring and that stems back even to when i was in school. Afterschool some teachers used to run after hour tutoring for people doing GCSEs and they HAD! to have atleast 2 pupils with them at all times.

Yeah Maggy, the music teacher at my school was male, and hes still a friend now and we are in contact via facebook. He used to come and find me every break and lunch time and give me his keys which also had his car keys and house keys on them and tell me i had to stay in the music room with friends because i was beaten up in the first year which led to my disability with my back just because i have psoriasis. That man saved my life literally thats how close i was to suicide and im glad i have had a chance to thank him.

This is crazy..............................
Surely if she had given the boy, a haircut and a manicure this could be misconstrued as grooming him? What next......................? My father, like many people his age, is 72. How much longer must we put with this? Wibble. |
Re: Dinner lady giving biscuit to boy seen as Grooming.
Until somebody important gets accused of being a paedophile for something so innocent. or you slap the PC people so much that they realise they're a big joke and it's time to stop.

Re: Dinner lady giving biscuit to boy seen as Grooming.
The person or persons on the committee that thought she had a case to answer should be the targets here. They are clearly unfit for purpose and should be the ones removed following this whole sorry fiasco.
