Does anyone know if and when we are likely to get the android 2.2 Froyo upgrade?

As Virgin now only have the Wildfire and X10pro as android handsets and the XS10 is still on ANDROID 1.6 - I would hope the Froyo update for this handset is under testing

I to am waiting on Froyo 2.2, but according to info on the web 2.2 wont be released on the Wildfire - there is allegedly a chinese version available out-there.

My phones unbranded and unlocked and that info apparently came from HTC tech support direct.

2.2 Update got released yesterday and today for all Desires sold by Virgin :)

Virgin can't do anything until HTC release the 'vanilla' update for the Wildfire - which they haven't done yet

Unfortunately i can only confirm that HTC are working closely with network providers to get this rolled out as quickly as possible to its customers but we have not been provided with specific dates yet we have only been provided with the following statement.

We expect to release updates for several of our 2010 models including Legend and Wildfire during Q3.

The HTC Wildfire already has the latest version of HTC Sense with the App Share widget and our enhanced HTC Caller ID. Music sync has also been enabled for the HTC Wildfire.

I had a feeling it might be, it was when I was working for T-Mobile but that was a few years ago & things could have changed.

T-Mobile doesn't have the 2.2 update on their branded phones yet (I have one that's still on 1.6) so it's no surprise Virgin doesn't have it either.

Android 2.2 (aka Froyo) on Wildfire is scheduled to begin rolling out this week in Europe, reaching all areas of the world by February. Had a 2.1 +1 update last week and got my 2.2 Froyo direct from HTC 2 days ago. Mines unbranded open sim on Giff-gaff.
