Truly a comedic genius. At his worst he was still better than 95% of today's acts. A gentleman truly deserving of the title of 'Sir'.

Today is the saddest day of my life, with the sad news of Sir Norm, l met him several times over the years, and have many photos with him on my wall, he was one of the icons of British comedy, and a great actor.

He always went out of his way to make people happy, and always had a time to stop and speak to his fans, many people over the years have tried there hardest to impersonate him, but have failed.

I once asked him, where is Mr.Grimsdale, and his reply was ' Oh he has gone upstairs' Well sadly now has he, he can now make people laugh in heaven and again repeat those famous words ' Mr Grimsdale' RIP Sir Norm.

When he received his knighthood as he was walking away he did his trademark stumble and it got a smile from the queen.

I didn't intend to reply again or give a linky
but this is for any young 'uns who don't know, but might like to, and for those that do :)

Here's bit and it is part 1-of-several explains the guy pretty well I think: including the knighthood, trademark trip (Homer:)) and a lot more.

Re: R.I.P Sir Norman Wisdom has died

He was a unique entertainer, one of a kind with a simple sense of humour.I just heard on the news about how he became old fashioned and no one wanted slapstick clowns anymore and wanted more sophisticated comedians..

I'm left wondering why people and me still laugh at Norman Wisdom films though? And why my favourite modern day comic Lee Evans has so much in common with him?

No Norman has left us all laughing at times..I found myself giggling at the link Caff provided and I can only say Thank You to a great comic who used no swearing and never needed to use abusive humour to make people laugh.

RIP Norman.:(

His passing is very sad, but he had a long, rich, full life and entertained millions.

That is very much worth celebrating and nothing will change it, so I'll keep a smile going :)

 Sir Norman was Charlie Chaplin's favourite clown and for me that says it all. He was not only a wonderful comedian but also a great actor. A great loss to the world - we'll never see his like again. Condolences to his family.

I'm going to say it.....his films were SO cringingly awful that they're actually quite good, if you know what I mean.

They were in the best tradition of British slapstick..:) and when it's good and well timed you can't help but laugh.

For someone who started life with the handicap of neglectful parents and real poverty, he made his life a success story against the odds.

I have to admire him for that.
