can anyone tell me how i apply for my staff discount i have worked for
virignmedia for 6 months now, and i was told by a staff member i can do it
on line at the virginmedia.com site. but i cant find it.

You can apply for the staff discount by clicking in touch offer on the companies intranet

i was told if i done it at home via virginmedia it would be quicker, if i done it at work was told it could take ages

You can do it at home if you have a keyfob otherwise it'll have to be at your work

You cannot apply from home unless you have access to workaway and then it is still via the intranet. When i applied i had a email within a day and was installed a week later, however i cannot say how long it will take for your install as it will depend on how busy the install crews are.

When you are in work just go to the Boiler room and look for the Intouch offer and fill in the form with the required items you want to have installed, it is usually better to ask a longer established colleague to help.

I've been with VM for 7 months and can't seem to log onto the intranet either. I seem to have lost my fob too. Can you PM me too DF:angel:

I think it depends on what part of the business that they work on as we in technical support go there everyday but possibly others do not, we would need to know where the OP worked to find out why.

I think sometimes you are too kind and forgiving, but there again I am hormonal and horrible. ;)

But really... any depts I, erm, investigate... they have stuff based somewhere off the boiler room. :shrug:

I know that it should be one of the first screens that you see but she asked the floorwalkers about it and got fobbed off and told to look on the Virginmedia homepage instead which will never have links to the intranet on it.

If she asks a colleague who has been their long term then they should be able to guide her as that is how I signed up.

All true, I'll go for being hormonal and horrible. My -facepalm- is more at the fact that 6 months+ in to the job they are still being floorwalked and what sort of training have they received? I feel for them more than anything... scary.

I was wondering what department would require that myself to be honest as even in technical support you only get a floorwalker for 2 weeks then you may have side by side help from the likes of myself.:)

We get longer training in our department so that we can have fake Mumbai accents.

One of the reasons so many call centres are based in Scotland is because our accents are so easily understood by the rest of the UK. It takes a while to train that ability out of us. :D

Still haven't had the PM about the discounts yet.
