This open day is on all networks Sky Sports broadcasts on - But not Freeview or BT Vision.

Virgin and Sky viewers will also get all the Sky Sports SD Channels free on Sunday as well.

Media Boy, is there any way to set a match to record on SS HD for that sunday when you don't sub to it normally? Tried doing it and it just comes up with the normal error message.

I'm away on that day and want to see how good the PQ is, which may tempt me to part with that extra £7/month.

I might be wrong in my way of thinking but it's free only on a Sunday and ends Monday 6am, so for example, if you did manage to record it you won't be able to watch it on Monday 10pm.

That's the case if you have Sky, not with VM. Anything you record on V+ is still watchable if you stop subscribing to SS or SM.

Re: free sky sports weekend

Yup..recorded before on sky..and as soon as you no longer have the channel in your package, any recording from that subscription can't be watched.

i loved virgin..as I could record movies, and still watch them after i stopped subscription to sky movies.

be good for ones not subscribed to ss hd yet to see the quality of it as it well worth it IMO

colin25 21-09-2010 18:16

Re: free sky sports weekend

Yes, I agree re ss HD...I think they should just show in HD..ban the rest

I also think we should get it free..so that is not likely as well :D

Does this mean every Sky Sports subscriber gets a partial refund for today as it is free for everyone? As we are paying for it and many are not?

Is there no WWE in HD WWE :D In relation to scottish football on SKY the games I have seen to me look highly compressed in the Picture quality department, anyway want grim be stuck in the Blue Square Premier league:(

In the same way if you bought some washing powder at Tesco yesterday at £1.49 and today they have it on offer for 99p, would you expect to get a 50p refund?

Or if you bought a package holiday 6 months in advance for £500 and the day before the holiday I purchased the holiday for £300, would you expect a refund on the difference?

£22.50/30 = £0.75, not really worth it is it

Anyone else watching the Wolves v Villa game on Sky Sports 1 HD? The picture is constantly stuttering here. Like every 15-20 seconds it is happening. Is this likely to be a virgin network issue or an issue with the HD feed from Sky?

I know what you mean I was hoping that the NFL would be SSHD2 this week, but they have put it on SS4. That is the main reason I did not subscribe to SS Hd because Sly keep moving things about.

Was perfect here.

Although to be honest I didn't really notice it being much better quality than SD.
It probably was, but, it didn't make £7 worth of difference.
