Woman Kept on hold for 12hrs by Virgin Media Tech Support

A woman who phoned Virgin Media for technical support after her internet stopped working was kept on hold for 12 hours, it has been revealed.

Tanya Davis had already been cut off 20 times when trying to get through to the company, and agreed to be put on hold at 11pm to speak to a technical support manager.

No it is open 24/7 365 days a year but at that time of night it would be offshore.:)

I find this story to be odd because I do remember the Britney song being one of the hold music songs but over 2 years ago, so make of that what you will.;)

Its a miracle she didn't end up cutting her throat!!! being bounced around from dept to dept repeating over and over why you are calling to endless different people who just put you on hold is soul destroying.

The same story in the Mirror - apparently it's all the fault of the Coalition Government.....:D

j/k ;)

But in all seriousness, why would you leave the phone off the hook and go to bed - what's the point of that?

Another rubbish story, nobody would hold on for 12 hours, after 30 mins they would hang up and go to bed

I'm not sure how you can say that, you only have to look at some of the posters on here to prove that people can indeed be that stupid ;)

Not 12 hours, but when I was with ntl (as it was) I would regularly be on hold for 45mins to an hour before I spoke to anyone.

But on the up side when I had to call virgin national yesterday I got through within a minute which was great :)

ah, the bad old days when NTL used to feature on Watchdog every time they did a piece about call centres.

I really don't know what NTL management thought it was doing. Surely they never really thought their infamous, massive on-hold times were acceptable?

I would have no problem staying on hold then for 12 hours :D.

Luckily so far I have missed that when calling other departments, I thought it was a rather inappropriate song the first time because if you have a perceived fault that may be Virginmredia's faut then you do not want to hear "Oop's I did it again":D
