Spec me a TV
Due to an unforseen issue with the Tv in the bedroom we are looking to get another LCD TV.
Max price £500 (deffo not more) Prefered spec would include 40"\42" (not smaller) 1080p Freeview (freesat would be better but for price i doubt it) 100hz Min 3xHDMI Fast response time <6ms would be good. Looking forward to seeing what you guys\gals come up with. Al |

Re: Spec me a TV
Richer sounds seems to always have best prices.
And 42" isn't too big for bedroom..watching the homemade videos is better on a bigger screen (and only place to get peace) I don't have tv in bedroom..but only because no gf there either :) |

If you google the model you will find it for a lot more expensive elsewhere. |

Re: Spec me a TV
Sandstrom stuff is OK but its still a DSG own brand TV.
personally i'd rather stick with an established name |

Leaning towards this http://www.richersounds.com/product/...690/lg-42ld690 or http://www.richersounds.com/product/...42lf77starstar We do have the 32" version of the latter & it is a cracking TV (but its going back) So its either freesat HD or freeview HD, guess when I get to richersounds I'll see if I can compare the 2.

I know you said you're looking for a 40in for the bedroom but i bought this 32in Samsung with built in Freeview HD and it gives an awesome picture on SD but haven't been able to check it out on Freeview HD yet.

Have 32" tv in bedroom which is being refunded due to very minor issue £450. Upon measuring the gap where the TV will go we now find that 37" is the largest size TV we can get to fit so... The 42" we get is going in the front room & the 37" Sharp Aquos we already have will now be going in the bedroom. I know its a bit of overkill for the bedroom but my wife struggles with reading txt on a smaller screen and doesnt wear her glasses in bed. |
Re: Spec me a TV
Went for the LG 42LD690 from richersounds, no stock till tomorrow so paid anyway & whats more got it for £449, so we have gone from 32" to 42" for the cost of £0.00 :)

Of the two you were thinking of..i think the 2010 model was best choice.

Re: Spec me a TV
Got the TV, pretty impressed, PQ is very good once setup properly which I'm still in the process of doing. Netcast is pretty crap unless you like browsing youtube, picassa or accuweather.
