X Factor: 2010

Starts 21st August at 8.30pm on ITV1!!, did it start this early last year?.

Jameseh 10-08-2010 03:31

Re: X Factor: 2010

I think they're starting it early as they want to avoid releasing the single on the week of the xmas number one to stop the criticism.

Stephen 10-08-2010 11:51

Re: X Factor: 2010

2009 X Factor started on the 21st August

2008 series started on the 16th August

2007 series started on the 16th August

So its not any earlier than previous years at all. It will there for end in time for Xmas No1 as usual.

Maybe if they lose the Christmas number one race again they will revise their scheduling.

Anyone remember the name of last years winner/loser:D and does he still have a recording contract.:D

I don't think Simon Cowell cares that much. He still gets millions in royalties..

If he did, the xfactor would be broadcast either in the Summer or starting in January.

In fact, if Simon Cowell cared about his artists as much as he says, he would concentrate on marketing the ones he has rather than launching more series that are (despite claims to the contrary) merely clones of Pop Idol with some bells and whistles.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_McE..._Post-X_Factor

It was Joe McElderry, and while it says he is recording an album, I think the fact they don't seem to have released a follow up solo single and he is eight months into the contract speaks volumes. I understand he is recording an album, but he is being pushed in a market where if you don't release something regularly, you can be forgotten.

haydnwalker 10-08-2010 14:24

Re: X Factor: 2010

I think the same as you Stuart.

X-Factor got old after the 2nd series, mainly because its just the "people audition...someone wins...we never hear from them again" formula.

The only group that have had major success from TV Talent shows are Girls Aloud.

But I guess if Cowell still sees the cash, he's going to keep making more.

...and who was that? I actually can't recall any of the winner since that Leona Lewis, and I couldn't even tell you what year she won it ..they all just blur into one.
If they really cared about the Xfactor winner's careers, they would have the show every two years, or even like the world cup, every four years

Leona is the only one who done really well out of it and set the bar for anyone coming on the show after that. Last years one was a joke with Jedward.

Alexandra seems to be doing very well in the charts these days, also JLS have had a number 1 god knows how many times and they are trying to break into America.

Just looked up a list of winners on Wikipedia. Out of 18 winners (I am counting 1st, 2nd and 3rd places as winners), there are three that succeeded. JLS, Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis.

It's repeated on ITV2 at midnight (so in 5 minutes) or on ITV1 at 2:45pm tomorrow

terrible isn't the word. My ears have fallen out with me. Funniest thing was one of the girls blaming the other girls over her singing as they trotted away, they were all terrible, worst thing was they actually thought they were good

I take it that you never listen to the type of music he sang, I actually watched this show tonight ( which is unusual for me ) and did find him to be very good and as Louie says he needs work but as he is only 19 he has plenty of time.

He messed up the second part of the first song which put Cheryl and Simon off but I have always believed that many of the acts are contrived and the judges have already heard them prior to the show and he fits that to a T.

To be quite honest with you, this series is not as good as previous series, SC is going soft, especially with that female, who look like she was high on booze, and even though she was a crap singer, he still put her through, put it this way, the Sharon Osbourne look a like was better than her, and she took her dismissal on the chin.

Couldn't agree more, they keep going on about how serious the show is but yet they put through someone who clearly can't sing, and someone who doesn't look like she could be a role model for younger viewers.

He has his money made and now he dont care on way or another which way it goes or even if it gets good or bad ratings. I was shocked that she was put through as well. I hate the way the format was changed as well. I preffered when they went into the judges room and then they went on stage to boot camp and then the live stages.

What did you make of the 'new dance routine' that the contestants had to endure? Do you think this was a wise decision or do you think that they should only concentrate on their voices or maybe both together?

She refused to vote for an act. resulting in it being 2 to TreyC and 1 to Katie. so TreyC goes. if she had of voted it would have gone to deadlock where the public would have decided, and TreyC would have stayed.

Some people are calling OFCOM whilst the others are still smashing their own homes up :)

and the only reason Cheryl is at number one with her album is because we have Cheryl constantly rammed down our throats every day.

Unless of course she's voted for 'TreyC' in which case it would have been 3-1 against her, she'd have gone out, and Cheryl would have been in the wrong again.

TBH, whilst that talentless arse Wagner is still in there are bigger questions to be raised about X-Factor than whether or not TreyC should have gone home.

If the public genuinely *are* voting for him then they want their damn heads examined.

She did say to ask the others first and she will take it to deadlock. but they didn't. they took the result as 2-1.

I think it's because they make the money from the controversy surrounding the show and the voting that goes with it. when the show finishes they make the money from the winners and losers anyway.

they have all said how good Wagner is. where before they (especially Simon) would say the complete opposite.

I like Katies voice. it has it's own characteristics. a bit like Diana Vickers. (it must be the squealy bits I like) not a fan of the square chin though :) and to be honest TreyC singing tonight she had a sort of a judder in her voice all the way through. she's been good in the past though.

Re: X Factor: 2010

Didn't like Diane vickers for the same reason. Treyc was nervous. Anyway just glad matt didn't go or Paize or whatever way his name is spelled. I really like those two and think they were the best last night. I would love one of Danni's acts to win as this year I think she is the best judge and she dont care what the other judges say. She says it like she sees it on the night and that is good enough for me. The other three are just a joke this year.

I want Matt to win. I think he really is the only good singer on the show out of a bad bunch.

So who's getting the boot tonight then? Surely not Wagner! :D

It's a double knock out. I hope Its him and katie or Cher will do as well

Re: X Factor: 2010

katies been in the bottom 2 4 times that tells me the public don't like her only the judges want her in . I think people are voting for wagner to try and get Katie out

Sasha222 14-11-2010 22:58

Re: X Factor: 2010

There voting for Wagner to annoy Simon Cowell which is stupid as good singers well better singers than Wagner being voted out and then Simon Cowell Said last week that Trec was a better singer but he will keep in who the public find enternaning.:mad::mad: It's only the judges like her and cant understand who did keep her in tonight

Re: X Factor: 2010

I am bloody furious at this silly childest game that people are having, It is about time people got off Katie's back and got rid of that idiot Wagner, who is ten times worse than the Jedward twins.

It was also said tonight by Aiden after he lost out that the bottom three votes were on twitter, how the hell do they know, is there a mole in the voting office giving out details.

This is a damn singing contest and Katie deserves to be there, Aiden doesn't, his attitude stinks, and there have been some good singers that have been voted off, and probably due to this sickining voting farce, that has to stop, otherwise the show will become a farce, and that is unfair on the singers that are good enough to win - remember this is a SINGING contest.

Re: X Factor: 2010

The show has been a farse since last year. People like Katie and people dont. People like Wagner and people dont. I'm annoyed that the two of them were kept in but I'm not going to let it take over my life. Katie was crap last week on the sing of and Simon Cowell said that Treyc was the better singer but he wold keep Katie and let Treyc go.

Re: X Factor: 2010

The right one this week went home though to be honest.
That Aiden shouldn't have even got to the live shows, he can't sing in tune and wasn't even [painfully] entertaining like Wagner (or Jedward from last year).

If Mary goes next followed by the Brazillian from Dudley the week after, Xfactor can finally become a singing competiton again.

Re: X Factor: 2010

None of them are any good except Matt and good is all I would call him. None of them stand out. Matt stands out in a bad bunch

It would be brilliant if Wagbo made it to the final or even won it, because it would kill the show stone dead.

Re: X Factor: 2010

I dont think it would as it gets massive viewing figures
