Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
Picture Box TV - http://www.picturebox.tv/virgin £5 Per month, 28 Movies with 7 new movies added each week.
Does anyone subscribe to this and is it worth the £5 monthly fee? They also come in HD |
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
Depends on your taste in films.
Keep checking the page to see the available films every couple of weeks, then decide. It's basically down to the users taste in films as everyone loves something different :) |
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
May be a good sweentener for VIP customers in light of the HD charge.

Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
I use it. Normally a couple of films a week that I would watch in HD..

Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
No had it for a few months but rarely watched it. It was always films like Jaws and Godfather that ye'd seen heaps of times:(

i personally don't think their film choice is worth the money. But everyone have different tastes.
|
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
i agree the film choice is crap, not worth £5.00 per month for the amount of times we watch it
|
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
i think it should be included on vip or £3 per month on other tariffs at the moment imo i dont think its value for money
|
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
the problem is that if you are on vip, the films have been on sky movies for a year, then film 4, then picture box. Such as 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and 'out of sight' which have been on sky recently.
If you don't have sky, then it is ok. |
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
I get at least one HD film a week out of it... £1.25 a film at most.
Same with Sky Movies about 1 or 2 films per week, watched my first ever film4 movie last night (gangs of ny) and the advertising bugged the hell out of me so it'll be the last I watch that channel I think. yes, PB is worth the fiver. |
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
However if there weren't to be any adverts, then Film4 would have to become premium, or not broadcast at all.

Its got to be worth a fiver a month, even if you watch just two films a month its paid for itself.
|
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
Film 4 was a premium channel when it first started. It had some good films then, some of them were UK premiers as well.

I think I might go for it or even better if they include it in the VIP package |

Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
Well after ordering I have had this for two months now and think its work every penny, really good line up and HD content just got bigger.
I think apart from recent releases Sky show on Sky Prem Picture box matches if not beats the rest of Sky channels. |
Re: Picture Box - Value for Money Yes or No
Just checked what is showing and it is films that I've seen loads of times before, in fact Liar, Liar is on at the moment and Bourne Ultimatum was on the other night.
I guess it also depends what package you're on too, for example I sub to Sky Sports already so it will cost me an extra £7/month to add SD movies. For only a couple more pounds I would personally do that instead. |
