|
Re: What have google done??
I'm finding it very distracting and annoying. Give me back my clean white page!!
|
Re: What have google done??
I'm using Chrome and IE getting it in both
|
Re: What have google done??
I just switched to google.com instead of .co.uk and have the plain white page back
|
Re: What have google done??
And for those that enter google.com, and get google.co.uk, try: www.google.com/ncr
NCR stands for No Country Redirect as far as i can gather :) |
Re: What have google done??
Mmm Google emulating the background used in bing.com - surely Google are not following Microsoft's lead ;)

Re: What have google done??
I don't understand the ins and outs of how it works but I use Google . co .uk as my Firefox Home page and it comes up as normal. If I go to that address manually I get a background image.

Re: What have google done??
The best thing about Google used to be speed and simplicity of presentation.
I hate the new "improved" Google front screen, it's a mess!!! When I do a simple search I don't want to have to login to get special settings, I want the old speed and simplicity back. Personally I think they have scored an "own goal" with regard to the search engine part of their business! |
Re: What have google done??
Bing do it.
http://www.bing.com/ They have some excellent pictures on there, its a shame that they aren't full screen. In the bottom left of the picture they have a arrow that you can see the previous 7 days worth. |

Re: What have google done?
using google .co.uk since the background pictures have been introduced has anyone else noticed that when you type in the search box it is so slow also when i click on the suggested search list that appears when you are typing it just goes to a home tab with no results .Is this a fault with my browser (i.e 8)or google

Re: What have google done?
One easy way to remove the Google pictures. Don't ever sign in to Google.

Well, I don't get the pictures on IE, Safari or Opera, and I never sign in to Google.

I took the liberty of removing your screenshot, I'm sure you didn't really want to share your gmail address with the world :D Quote:
At present any search terms you send via Google travel across the Internet and your local network unencrypted. Google are trialling a fully SSL (actually TLS) encrypted session between their servers and the end user, meaning that any search terms you send off and any results you get back are encrypted in transit between the servers and you. |
