True Blood : Season 3

For those on a US timeline Season 3 starts 2nd week in June. A new addition to the cast is Lara Pulver (Isabella in Robin hood)

Oh what a great quote by Sookie

"I ain't that blonde" as Terry passes her the gun in Episode #2 :D

Really not enjoying it so far, I mean its OK but thats it at the mo.

I think what is most annoying is how far removed it is from the books & even more so with the start of season 3.

Paul 22-06-2010 23:07

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Perhaps you should not compare it to the books then. I have never read them so Im enjoying it.

I'm the same, but I plan on reading the books once the run of TV shows ends.

I've just watched the newest episode and I was wondering...

Spoiler:
Why is the queen interested in Sookie? I'm thinking they're related.

Re: True Blood : Season 3

real spoiler beware

Spoiler:
you know sookie is a fairy right?

haydnwalker 03-08-2010 12:34

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Just read Zings spoiler...and no I didn't know that but I don't think it spoils the plot really. I'm interested in Sams family at the moment, I can't quite work them out...they're hiding something too I reckon

Tezcatlipoca 03-08-2010 20:21

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Some great quotes from the latest episode :D

"Vampire burrito!"

"I didn't think I was smart enough to get depressed"

[About Crystal] "I bet her middle name is 'Meth' "

Re. Zing's spoiler. Yup.

As for Sam's family... We already know that they're **** & trash & make their son take part in illegal dog fights. What else could there be?

I know theres that...but I just have a feeling theres more to it...I might be wrong though.

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Can I remind people that there should not be spoilers in this US timeline thread.. I presume Zing's spoiler is from the books which should not to be published in this thread. Perhaps someone should create another thread for the books

zing_deleted 04-08-2010 00:47

Re: True Blood : Season 3

I did say it was a real spoiler lol the info is all over the web all you have to do is search sookie and its there

I thought that was what spoiler tags were for for hiding spoilers and allowing members to choose if they read or not?? as I said its not like it wasnt labled as a proper spoiler anything thats been aired does not need spoiler tags iirc from posts made in other threads

you yourself have posted loads of spoilers from the books in the twilight threads ;)

You don't even need to the press search button if you start typing the question into google

Yep, the spoilers are relevant to the book being discussed :p:

when the US timelines were set up it was exactly for that, not future events ;)

Spoiler:
Gonna spank the next person who spoils the series for me with a cactus spine studded table tennis paddle

zing_deleted 04-08-2010 17:35

Re: True Blood : Season 3

thats funny kymmy cuz in the Twilight Eclipse thread you made the following 2 posts reffering to Breaking Dawn with a real spolier warning

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/34995116-post10.html

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35050783-post26.html

;) as I said the spoiler tags are there to hide information and the reader decides if they want to read it or not. I posted a spoiler with a warning that it was a real spoiler and you must have read it and wished you didnt. That is not my fault :)

Kymmy 04-08-2010 18:18

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Yep and I specified outside of the spoiler what the warnings were in reference too.... Where yours had no reference so someone couldn;t make up their mind as to read it or not without reading the spoiler

That's the point I'm trying to make Zing is that if you;re gonna put in a spoiler at least provide a frame of reference so that others can decide to read it or not..

zing_deleted 04-08-2010 18:24

Re: True Blood : Season 3

I said it was a real spoiler ok I should maybe have quoted the previous post although my spoiler was in answer to a spoiler. I said beware you took your risks hehehehe ;)

and anyway threatening me with a spanking aint gonna stop me doing owt ;)

Kymmy 04-08-2010 18:41

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Hmmm, most people will do anything for my spankings... ;)

Um .... actually, we have no such rule :p:

Read spoilers at your own risk. :erm:

Its perfectly acceptable to have them in US or UK threads. The point of using spoiler tags is that its your choice to read the information within them - as they may contain ..... Spoilers !

Kymmy 05-08-2010 09:43

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Now it looks like Paul wants a spanking ;) :D

Never said it was a rule, but always polite to at least reference what the spoiler is about or not put them at all.. Just that then you have a choice as to whether the spoiler will ruin or help with the show ;)

Re: True Blood : Season 3

I heard sookie is a
Spoiler:
fairy
not sure if she has other abilities, and if she went with Claudette when the darkness came, would she of died?
Are we going to meet Claudette in sookies waking life?

Was not impressed with the first 5 episodes but episode 6 really did well in recapturing my interest, and now I can't wait for each episode to come.

Anyone have any spoilers for the finale yet?

Eric rules! How will he take on Russell though?

Kymmy 10-08-2010 10:17

It's gotta be a Bill & Eric partnership (no not in that sense) against Russell perhaps with Sookie saving the day :D

I can see a bill Eric team to defeat the king along with Pam, I don't think bill would ask Jessica though she too young IMO, and he is quite protective of her.

Unless sookies white light plays apart in it all........

I'm really getting into this series...I'm really interested to see what happens next

alferret 10-08-2010 22:56

Re: True Blood : Season 3

I think due to having read the 9 books so far about (10th book just out) I am rather dissapointed with timelines and general lack of keeping to the story, yea I know it "based upon" but surely its better to be true to the original stories which is what got it made into a tv series in the first place than change a fair amount of it for the sake of grabbing a laugh, a bit of tittilation & lots of blood combined with some less than perfect not so special effects, maybe thats whats making it for some?

That said it does have its moments :D

Tezcatlipoca 17-08-2010 01:31

Re: True Blood : Season 3

Quote of the season so far (& there've been several contenders already I think):

Russell: "You are not our equals. We will eat you. After we eat your children. Now, time for the weather. Tiffany?"

So, this week:

Some very interesting stuff with the AVL & the Authority, & mentions of the campaign for the Vampire Rights Amendment.

Good Eric & Pam scenes.

Bill finding out what Sookie is.

Hoyt & Jessica.

The Franklin/Jason scene...

"You do realise that I'm a vampire? You could unload every round you have into me & I'd just heal."

BAM! GLOOP!

"Not if I've got wooden bullets..."

And Russell losing it, carrying Talbot in a jar, & then going on TV! That whole ending was awesome.

haydnwalker 17-08-2010 10:41

Re: True Blood : Season 3

I loved that ep!

Probably the best so far. I found the Talbot in a jar thing a teeny bit creepy, but Russell on TV was just classic!

Only 1 ? Why do they always do 12 instead of 13 .

I wonder if they will really die in the sun.

They can't kill Eric off, unless they're planning a radical departure from the books.

The show is LOOSELY based on the books though ;)

I haven't read the books, but have certainly been thinking about getting them in ebook format recently.

Eric is a fan favourite, they wouldn't kill him off. Plus the actor that plays him is awesome in everything he does.

He is a good character, scary at times, fun at others and totally great to watch :) A great bit of casting by the producers
