You'd think it would be all four SS's HD channels, I mean if they are prepared to do a deal for 1 and 2 which has the vast majority of the top sport that Sky offer, it would be pretty petty to hold back 3 and 4.:shrug:

As far as I know only Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 HD Channels will launch on Virgin Media by the start of the football season.

I seen pics of the next new EPG for VM.

Any news of a proposed release. I am just wondering if it might be Tivo related only.

Seen the Sky HD EPG for the first time at the weekend and loved how they highlighted programs in orange that are recorded in high def.

Any news on Fiver + 1 and Five Usa +1, in the last issue of electric I got in the post, these channels were listed as NEW in the full channel listing.

My Virgin Insider has told me that Virgin Media HQ has been told by STV that they hope to launch STV HD sometime before this years World Cup.

ITV4 to extend transmission hours.

ITV has confirmed that ITV4 will extend its broadcast hours from June 7th and drop the early morning simulcast of GMTV2.

Thank you for your email.

STV HD has been announced and will initially be available via Digital Terrestrial (DTT) HD and Virgin cable. As digital switchover progresses, the DTT service will become universally available though we appreciate this will take some time. However, STV will be part of the advance network, bringing HD on DTT to over half of Scottish homes served by the Black Hill transmitter immediately.

We absolutely want to have STV HD on satellite too and are working with Sky, Freesat and ITV Network with a view to the service being available soon. Hopefully we will be in a position to announce further developments shortly.

Ofcom has today rename Attheraces as GBI Racing on its Licence page on the Ofcom web site.

So it look like an rebrand is on it way.

Which makes perfect sense to me although they will endeavour to ensure that you sporty types have the best available tennis and footie for the big tournaments during the summer. By available I mean currently available to and practicable for VM to provide at this time. Don't post any replies with "will we be getting up skirt shots of the women's final like they do with the red button on Sky Sports 69?" (please excuse the adult content used purely to affirm the point :blush:).

Having seen some trailers for CBS Drama at the weekend, I would like to see the full CBS suite 'Coming Soon ...' as well as the Five(r, USA) time-shifts.

Could be a good autumn once we're all digital only, NGTV, Nagra 3, HD etc. In the meantime, get out there and enjoy the summer and give VM a breather!

Five seems reasonable, but Sky's HD offerings are well overpriced, unless I've missed something (Living HD for Sky 1 HD?) this seems unlikely.

Lewisham Headend Done


Lewisham headend has now been upgraded to next gen network.
Picture has improved, setup box has got faster, all the channels including bbc new multi screen has appared and the internet responds quicker.
This happend between 2 and 3 am in the morning

How's your water pressure? Has that improved too? ;)

Unless you were on a dire valve-powered head-end, I doubt you'd see all of those improvements (I didn't). I'm not sure if it would make a difference if your broadband was via the STB or a cable modem but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't affect the speed. Nor would I expect to see an improvement in STB performance without a significant firmware upgrade to your box. :confused:

Maybe the upgrade resolved some contention issues. It would be interesting to hear what you think by the same time next week but we are careering off topic now. :(

BTW, time for a change of user name I think. Ex-Telewest is so passé! :rolleyes:

The NGTV upgrade has to be in place in order to roll out the Nagra 3 upgrade. Once you install the new smart card you're on Nagra 3 but bear in mind that the old Nagra 1 has to run in parallel until everyone has made the change. So 'dodgy' boxes will still work for a while. :nono:

You don't want to come back from holiday after being held hostage in Tunisia by the volcanic dust cloud for two months only to find that you can't see the final of Dancing with the Stars until you dig the new smart card out from the volcanic mound of post on your doormat. :rolleyes:

Nothing has been confirmed as to whether it will launch over here on any provider. I'm sure it will one day, but the decision is that of ESPN's as opposed to Virgin.

Broadcastnow is reposting that Bravo has signed up Welsh international rugby star Gavin Henson for a pop science show and is launching a rebrand to increase the lads’ channel’s appeal to women.

Also the women have Diva this channel tends to show oprah type shows and is female orientated must be a sign of the times watch out for plenty of Jeremy Kyle type cr-p on Bravo in the near future.:erm:

Wasn't Living rebranded a few years ago to appeal more to men and Living 2 becoming the womens channel. The main Living channel certainly is now a general entertainment channel then a lifestyle channel.

Not to sure about the Bravo rebrand as it just sounds like they want to make some cheap UK programming to fill in a few slots around some good US shows.

UTV’s plan was always to be on every platform in HD by 2012, and we are working at bringing this forward however this involves commercially sensitive negotiations with ITV.

There are quiet a few fans of ESPNA on Digital spy a concerted effort of emails worked when ESPN were going to shut ESPNA down for a few months last year, in the end they kept it running maybe we could try that again. This time emailing VM with a copy of your reply from ESPNA.

It's not currently being carried by any UK providers, but the version of ESPN America that covers most Scandanavian countries (where ESPNA HD is being carried) is the same version we get here.

In deed it does sound promising and it is the first time anyone I know of has been able to to get a confirmation that ESPNA HD is coming to the UK. I will keep my fingers crossed as it will be just in time for the start of the College football season.

I have emailed them back to recheck the information supplied as some of it was from last year when ESPNA was going to close for a few months, but did not due to viewer complaints.

Agreed mate being into the US sports I would love to see this. It would also bolster their Sports HD lineup.
