Babysitter in Glasgow abandoned disabled girl outside

Quote:

A babysitter has admitted abandoning a disabled six-year-old outside overnight in temperatures just above freezing, wearing only socks and a dressing gown.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard the girl, who is deaf and blind, suffered hypothermia and almost died.
Kate Harper, 26, strapped the youngster into her pram and went to sleep in a nearby house after a fireworks party in Kingspark, Glasgow, last November.

On the face of it, how could anyone (parents and/or babysitter) be so irresponsible!!!

I wasn't me that was criticizing the parents in this case.

Just another case, not relevant to this poor child's misfortune...

Seriously, if there was ever a motivation to bring back forced sterilization, it's morons like this....

It wasn't the baby-sitter's own child.

Which is why the sterilisation comment was thrown about, would she be any better with her own?

Glasgow in November?
It's a miracle that the kid didn't die.

i would still like to know why the parents didn't question why their child wasn't brought home ,or are they as bad as the dozey moron they had caring for her ?

I don't think that they knew she had taken her out.

so does that make her a child abducter or a babysitter ?

i haven't been able to find any comment from the parents mayby they are keeping a low profile (assuming there are two parents of course)

It all happened last November but I can't find if there was an initial news report about it at the time.It does seem that background info is very sparse about this case.

From what I understand from the report, she was to supposed to caring for the child through the night, whilst the parents were presumably away.

Well I was able to infer that much but I was wondering what made them choose this particular person.

She was a neighbour, it seems, so she may have cared for the child before.
