A lot of them have their own channels in the US. And unfortunately one or two of the less discerning Christian channels broadcasting to the UK have been known to syndicate this sort of pap, although I don't know whether any of them are showing Robertson's stuff specifically.

Well having had an old friend over for xmas who moved to the US ten years ago and has found god with some really extreme christian group i am not surprised some of them hold this view. He was asked to leave after only an hour into a boys night because of his views which i found incredibly ignorant and offensive and i am not exactly the pinacle of open mindedness or tolerence.

Still for those who think only islam has nutters this may be a revelation not that it will dull their fervour in attacking islam.

i listened to a live report on bbc radio 2 at lunchtime and i had a lump in my throat ,these poor people have enough on their plate without this rubbish .

You would have thought the chrisitian thing to do would be to offer support and sympathy wouldn't you but obviously certain sections within christianity don't feel thats their purpose. I actually feel more pity for the people with these types of twisted belief then i do for the people of haiti at the minute and that takes some doing.

Have you seen the kind of stuff that's praised in the bible? Fear 'god' or be dammed for eternity in 'hell', geoncide, slavery, rape, bigotry, rampant homophobia, stoning people to death.. etc.

It's horrific stuff, as with all religious novels. At least the extemists have the courage in their conviction to go all out and believe every last insane word of their magical story books.

Personally I prefer a more rational aproach and look forward to the day when religion, and all of it's crazy followers, are just a memory.

To say the things this person and i use that term reluctently has said shows no real faith at all more an extremely unpleasant person hiding that behind religion as so many in this world do. Right now those people deserve all the help they can get and sympathy from those of us not able to help, not trash like this thing is speaking and i hope his no doubt well fed backside gets a good kicking sometime soon.

When the idiot brigade open their mouths it is easy to say good riddence to all religion but we have to remember that most people that have a faith do not agree with or believe in what the extremists of any faith say or want. I think rather then use this as an excuse to attack religion full stop we should just remember that idiots are idiots and they exist in every group and if we were to want all groups that had idiots in gone and buried there would n't be many of us left.

I'm an atheist and lets be honest we have more then our fair share of people that should probably be on some medication :).

There are plenty of people in this world who hate other's lack of morals who are atheists.

What we should avoid doing with both theist and atheist groups with such attitudes is deny them the oygen of publicity.
