Women-only carpark

It got me rolling my eyes until I read this bit:

The parking bays are one metre (3ft) wider than normal spaces, he said.

Oh I love how they say

the car park was meant to cater to women's "strong sense of colour and different sense of distance
that's a lot politer way of saying that a lot of women can't park for toffee. :D

and bear in mind the chinese/japanese have a taste for teeny-weeny cars you could probably fit 2 cars in one space...but it must be that chinese/japanese women drivers are less skilled than their european counterparts who generally drive slightly larger cars :)

The thing is that it's actually been scientifically shown that Women don't have the same levels of spacial awareness that Men have - this is why they (generally) have trouble parking.

Personally I think this is a good idea, I wish all car parks had bigger spaces - might stop me getting so many damn dents in the car doors :erm:

I think thats rubbish Rob, I think too many women are pre-occupied with other stuff - you know the way we say we can multi-task?! They don't see driving a killing machine around as a primary role and think we can apply make up, or shout at the kids, or answer our phones or just generally have our minds somewhere else - just my two penneths worth

I have no problems parking or driving btw :p: because i have respect for the road and all the other idiots on it ;)

Pondering the fact that despite every comment on here I know I pay less for car insurance which is why my husband makes sure the car is in my name..So why the constant carping by men about women's driving and parking beats me..

Mind what can you expect from the Chinese who still regard women as being inferior to men..

Been watching "The Key To Time" Dr Who box set. I find it mildy amusing that despite the Doctor's assertions that she can't, Romana Mk 1 (Mary Tamm) pilots and lands the TARDIS a lot more smoothly than the Doctor..

i think there should be a mans side and a separate woman's side in all car parks then they [women] can chip their own ruddy paint off and disappear without telling each other ,while we Gentle men can continue to respect one an-others pride and joy .

Although women do pay less for their insurance than men, it is non-sequitor that they have fewer accidents. It is simply that they are less likely to claim on their policies.

I thought it was to encourage nervous women drivers to get on the road. with the intention of blaming the male that rear ended her.

Proof?:erm:

Of the three accidents I have had I was responsible for only one,the other two were down to the MALE driver.

No it's because women will be paying their excess more due to claiming more so the companies make their money either way :D

Well, of the five accidents I have had in the last thirty years or more, have been three rear-enders by women, one of them, because a woman rear ended her. Two months ago a woman mistook her accelerator for her brake and hit me head on at twenty miles per hour and the latest one (just after getting my car back from the bodyshop), in the recent snow, was because a woman had parked at an angle on a junction. Then there are three times I have been hit whilst being parked. One outside my house, where my neighbour reversed into my car whilst trying to park in a space four times the size of her car. Twice in car parks where the two women drivers tried to get away with not leaving their details. On most of these counts, the male partners of these women have offered to pay for the damage, without going through their insurance. Not a problem with that, but it does go to show how many claims actually go through the insurance.

Re: Women-only carpark

If women claim less, maybe its because the damage isn't as bad - just a thought

I was shunted through a red light whilst I had my handbrake on last year, by a silly soft bint who was too busy gassing with her passenger and just didn't see me. She pushed me through into oncoming traffic (I was in a Fiesta, her in a Citroen C1 - says it all really). I did claim however, as my boot floor was bent :dozey:

Flyboy 30-12-2009 12:55

Re: Women-only carpark

You are very right SB. This is the reason why many women don't bother claiming and is why it is often more economically prudent to settle claims privately.

Or the buggers just drive off as did a bin wagon recently after demolishing my rear wing with no witnesses :(

I'm all for the larger parking spaces, means I don't need to struggle when trying to tie up bike frames in the back of our volvo estate.. Also means I don't need to climb in through the window of the range rover as getting in over the rollcage is absolutely murder if you can't open the door fully!!!

Not really evidential statistics though is it? I like your way of thinking but there is no proof to back it up with.
