Musical Mashups

Really getting into these at the moment, basically two songs melded into one - some of the combinations are waaaay out there and damn clever. Here are a couple of my favourites:

Warning:The songs and videos are ok, but some of the idiots commenting may leave bad language within their comments - adult discretion advised.

Anybody got any more good ones?

This one's clever too:

Wow. The Snow Patrol v. Police one is really clever. Can't judge the other two though.

Re: Musical Mashups

Yeah, thought that Snow Patrol v. Police one was brilliant and very (very) clever.

I almost prefer that version to the originals.....almost :)

Heard it on the Chris Moyles show on Radio One the other day and it got me searching for more stuff like it. There's all sorts out there, most of it real dross, but some of it's brilliant.

DJ BC is rather good, I recommend you hunt around you're favourite torrent site for his Beatles/Beastie Boys mashups

...and the Greenday mashup album, Dean Gray

I quite like it, but it's not a mashup as such it's a cover.

And that aint where we're at here :D

Mashups FTW! :D

Mark Vidler who is Go Home Productions is fantastic. I've about 16 CD's worth of his mashup and mixes and remixes hes done. he made them all available for download about 18months ago.

the man's a genius!

I like it :tu:

I don't think I recognise the samples though, but that's no bad thing.

What software did you use to create it?

Billy Jean Got Soul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vklnr8AJxLw

A mash up of Micheal Jackson's Billy Jean and Eric B & Rakim's I Know You Got Soul..

This mashup is actually quite old, apparently it was done in 1988..

---------- Post added at 23:54 ---------- Previous post was at 23:48 ----------

Also, if you can find it, the full human nature remix of SWV's Right Here is worth a listen. It runs to about 7 minutes and includes most of MJ's Human Nature.

Can't find a link though.

Adobe Audition to strip the vocal from the track "weekend players - Into the sun" and then mixed it in Ableton live.

Re: Musical Mashups

Cant find a vid for it, but there's a great audio mashup of Soulsearcher "Can't Get Enough" with Beatles 'Eleanor Rigby"

Love the CeCe Pistols and Nirvastley vids - to me that's what a mashup should be about: 2 completely different styles rammed together in a way that bizarrely works :)

Ressurecting an old thread here, but they call this a mashup..

I wouldn't call it a mashup, more just using lots of samples, but a 17 year old boy decided to combine elements of 39 of his favourite songs to create a tune, and did rather a good job..

Rather good? Rather good?

Stuart, how amazing would it have to be to qualify as 'pretty good'? ;)

I know the technology is doing a lot the beatmatching automatically, but even so that's just an incredible bit of talent - thanks for the find :D

DJ Earworm has released the latest in his United State of Pop mashups.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGRQKKaox5Q

The 2013 version mixes together music from some of the top pop artists of 2013.

My opinion? It's good, but not as good as his 2010 United State of Pop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JkbehaJsUk
