David and Goliath

http://www.skysports.com/video/clips...,17218,00.html

I'm surprised there isn't a thread about Haye yet. If he wins he will be the first ever British cruiserweight to win the world heavyweight title. I reckon Haye will win this quite comfortably, quick flurry of punches and than retreat, if he keeps that up all night he'll win.

Haye will make quite a bit from this fight due to the freak factor of his opponent and quite a few casual will purchase the fight.

For anyone who hasn't seen Hayes opponent

well id fight him totally different to that. Id work on the inside not give him a chance to swing if you work on the outside there is a chance he is gonna hit ya and I wouldnt fancy getting hit by a giant like that. I tuck myself in work on his body a hope to get a couple of over the top hooks in.

I have not seen either of these guys fight I have no idea how good the Russian is

.... that could be the start of a cunning plan.

Offer him a drinkski. "No Nikolay the aftertaste of British Vodka always resembles strong sedatives... have mine it tastes the same..."

the russian is not the best skilled fighter but has power and size. Haye's main attributes are his considerable power but mainly his speed is what will count on the night and if he has enough stamina to keep it going.

Valuev's power has decreased somewhat in recent Years..

And to be quite honest.. Ive never seen anyone Hit like haye..

Ive got a feeling ... Haye KO either the First Round or the 6th

Valuev weighed in 7 stone heavier than Haye at the weigh in this afternoon, it's the heaviest Haye has ever been and Valuev was lighter than expected

Any ideas what he was like in the other two, Did he struggle in any he should've won or were the fights made as in all he had to do was turn up to fight.

Re: David and Goliath

I really can`t see Haye getting this one:sulk:

Reason being i think Valuev will get to fight one of the Klitshchkos` if he wins and that, him being Russian them Ukrainian is a big fight. Plus the fact he`s got a head the size of a Fiat500 :p:

Also 1 loss in 50 fights with 34 KO`s is a good record in anyone`s book. Haye may need to be bailed out at some point!! :o:

Hayes record isn't exactly bad - 23 fights 22 wins 21 KO's

21/22 being KO's is an amazing record.

No, sometimes when you enter a new division, fights are made knowing you should win just to give you a feel of things. I was wanting to know if that was the case, nevertherless thank you for your reply. :)

His first fight was pretty easy but his second was against Monte Barrett and he isn't a walkover. Haye doesn't like to box to win he likes to put on a show for the fans and this is what he'll do tonight.

Haye Vs Ruis Fight Almost Confirmed As WBA promised Ruis hit title shot after missing out on Valuev

Ruis is 36 and alot smaller than Valuev... But i bet he wishes Valuev had won because Now he has to face the Guy that Nearly KO'd him...

Re: David and Goliath

How poor is the heavyweight division when two fighters such as Haye and Valuev are fighting for a "Heavyweight Champion of the World" title!!

Fair play to David Haye, i didn`t give him much chance against that giant of a bloke, who was absolutely terrible, shocking, rubbish!
Haye won by being a bit better than someone who is average at best!
Looking back to when there were some real heavyweights, Foreman, Ali, Frasier, Tyson, etc, these guys wouldn`t last five minutes in the ring. If Bruno was around today he`d probably be undisputed champ :p:

Still good luck to Haye if he ends up fighting one of the russians.

I believe you have it the wrong way round.. Like I've Said to many people. David Haye is a Combination of Raw speed and power.

Tyson is comparable to No-one.. No matter how 'good' he was the man was a living disgrace to the sport, There were many of times he was on the verge of going down to a less popular Opponent and he Hit a cheap shot! nevermind the bite incident

This may sound outrageous but David Haye Is Close if not better than Ali..

Ali would have done the same as Haye last night.

Ali was fast and powerful but haye is just the AlphaMale now.. He is Top Notch talent spread around now that the concern of him not being able to run a full 12 rounder has left us

Haye Went to Germany and Won..

Mark my word.. If haye ever takes on Valuev again.. Its a KO now that he knows he's not as big as everyone made out.

He will KO Ruis.. He Will take out the Russian Mafia wannabe's and reign as Undisputed Champion

What you have now people is a Phenom Of Boxing...

The only way to win that fight was by doing what David Haye done for 12 rounds, he could have taken the chance of looking for a KO but there's no points taking risks for your first title. Now he has the title he can negotiate a better deal with the klitchkos than was previously done.
