email problems.

Anyone having a problem getting or receiving email this morning. I get this error message:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Can't get into webmail either.

Re: email problems.

I think it's national. I can't get connection to email and have slow or no connection to some Virgin media websites. Looking a the service status page it just shows a national web mail problem is ongoing. I assume this is linked in some way.

Re: email problems.

The Virgin Media Broadband status page is a joke! Clearly the email issue is national but just looking now there is a red 'light' against Broadband and Email but underneath its says 'There are currently no issues'!

They really need to get their act together!

fatratsandcheese 30-09-2009 09:40

Re: email problems.

i just called them and there was a recorded message saying there is a fault nationwide and there looking at it with an update as 2pm

You are lucky to have any connection at all. None whatsoever here in Reading (having to use reserve mobile stick) Modem shows both sync & ready as rock solid on, but no browsing possible, no matter whose DNS I use.

4 hours fix time, phooeeyy, thats just their SOP Bovine Fecal Matter.

Even tried getting on VM's webpage while doing an adsl package check, and "site is having problems" sign pops up also lol... and here was me thinking i may just upgrade my adsl package with them....i'll think again now.

Must be one humdinger of an outage to effect so much, over such an extensive area.

Just wondering how many 9 month old e-mails i'll be getting in my inbox tonight :)

Did take me buy surprise, when i get an invoice paid mail...erkkk thought someone had hacked into my bank account hahaha then i seen the date..doh feb 2009 for items i recieved then.

Rang India this morning as I had no broad band at all, was put through all the hoops for 45 minutes and then transferred to the UK where I was told that all the systems at Virgin had gone down and they could do nothing until after 12 pm and to ring back after then.

Broadband is back but no email.
