Laptop for £300 I know i've already asked.
 

I'm still looking, the bank holiday special at PC World was all sold out of those Compaq Laptops in every store and online just after the offer started.

So i'm still looking for a laptop with a budget of £300. I did see this on ebay and looked it up on tesco direct and it's £349 so might be a good deal. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT


As a refresher what I will be using it for is general surfing, Playing online poker, word processing and watching online streams of box office boxing and football matches.

That one on ebayer does not look bad I know it has no OS but they are not hard to come by.

Linux is free, but I have plenty of keys for Windows. If you have a retail copy it is perfect not that Windows is much anyway.

I have got both vista black and Windows 7 Ultimate so would stick Windows 7 on it, Still having a nose around at the mo.

Windows 7 isn't out yet though. Not until Oct 21.

Yes the laptop is brand new, i might even get one myself. Have bought from ebuyer several times and allways found them to be top notch.
Check out the Review and Comments section for said laptop, most seem very pleased with it.

I have been keeping an eye on the stock level's as I don't get paid until the 29th but if the stock runs lower I will use my credit card.

My only concern about that laptop is what seem to be very poor battery life at only 1.5 hours is this correct?

they have one with better gfx, longer battery life and a faster cpu for £350 now. Still no OS...

Bloody got an e-mail back from ebuyer to say my order had been cancelled, When I asked them what the problem was they were unable to clarify only the system came back with an error or something. My credit card is fine as I have a £3000 credit limit and only use it to get holiday vouchers and pay off the balance the next month before interest so that's fine.

So back to square 1 as ebuyer have sold out of that model.

Yeah £300 is really my absolute max as I am pushing it at that, Think I might have to go down the second had route.
