2009 NFL Season

The preseason is already underway with the regular season due to start on the 10th September.

Anyone got a favourite for the superbowl? As I'm a Bears supported I just have to go for them but I have a feeling that the Bills might do well this year.

Washington without a doubt, their due this year :dozey:

I have been saying this for the last 10 years or so.

Cowboys may do well this year. Can't wait for the season to start

I've always been a Dolphins Fan since the days of Dan Marino and was lucky enough to see them live in Miami during his time there when I was on holliday.
They played a pre season friendly there against the Chicago Bears.
The Dolphins lost but it was quite an experience and enjoyable.
One of my wishes now is to visit Boston and Fenway Park to see the Red Sox :)

I usually followthe Colts so i'd go for them.

I'd also like to say it's disgusting that Michael Vick has been welcomed back to the NFL with such open arms after he done.

For anyone who doesn't want to shell out for Gamepass and is happy to make do with radio broadcasts of the NFL you can listen to the MNF on iTunes. Go to the radio tuner and in the sports radio category select "660 WFAN NY". I'm listening to the game now and it's pretty good for a 64K stream.

Channel FIVE are doing a live game at night, taped the Bears playing the packers the other night but still not watched it yet so don;t anyone dare tell me the score!!!

Oh one word of warning if recording these games, they tend to over-run so always set to record the program afterwards ;)

Very true. I always set a manual record with a couple of hours padding on all overnight US sports.

Well, well...

Just watched the highlights of the AFC and NFC games... Saints were lucky to get the overtime win but the Colts had a great game in thier win. Shame really as I would of liked to have seen a saints v jets superbowl.

7th Feb in Miami is the next step :) Games starts at 6pm EST (I think 11pm our time)

I can't see it going any other way than the Colts although I'm sure the neutrals would like to see a New Orleans win. I'm just hoping fora good game as I have a concern it might be rather one sided.

I'd like to see the Saints win. Firstly because Sean Payton is a former Britball player, secondly because Drew Brees is a former Charger and thirdly because I think it'd be good for New Orleans after all the crap that's happened there.

Now I just have to decide whether I want to watch it on Sky Sports or BBC1. I'm leaning towards BBC1 as they have Mike Carlson.

Have a feeling that this is going to be one sided and the colts are going to run away with it.

Have a flight at 6am tomorrow morning :(

Don't know whether to watch it later in the week or go to bed now and get up and watch it then go straight to the airport :D and get some sleep in the taxi at the other end.

The pre-game build-up on BBC Radio 5Live Sports Extra has been quite good.

If Freeney is fit then I say the Colts, if not then the Saints. I'll be watching on Sky in HD, cant wait

Im not a huge fan of sports, but i do enjoy the Super Bowl.

Ill say New Orleans will win :D

Nah, I'd say the Colts (or is it Coltz?) will win although they had a poor quarter just then. Gotta love watching the Super Bowl. The first time I watched it was last year but now I love how big of an event it actually is, it'd be awesome if we had something similar over here.

Nice to see The Aints won after being underdogs for so long.:D

Nice to see New Orleans starting a new turnaround in their city and communities as well as their foot ball team.

Didn't turn out the way I thought although a lucky couple of plays from New Orleans. Could have been so different!

Watched the play on Sky Sports HD although how do Sky get away with so many adverts - for a premium sports channel the adverts are rather annoying. Ended up switching to BBC coverage fairly often and only really flicking back to SSHD when ball was in play.

Re: 2009 NFL Season

Sorry been out all morning so not been able to comment..

But WOW, the mixture of SP and DB really made that game.. First half got me really worried but right from that short punt/turnover in the first few seconds of the 2nd half and the game just came alive.

Well done the Saints :)
