Words fail me

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...-criminal.html

Quote:

A police sergeant has been ordered to undertake a "management advice course" because he swore while dealing with a violent and abusive criminal who had threatened officers during a two-hour siege.
Throwing items at cops, attacking them with a knife, threatening to shoot them, smashing the place up with a hammer and generally being a not very nice person yet when a cop uses ONE swear word when speaking to him the cop gets carpeted for it.

Quote:

He says he is discussing legal action with his solicitor and plans to lodge a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights.
Oh I wonder how he is funding this bit of court action.

Quote:

He was convicted of affray at Newcastle Crown Court in September and given a 12-month suspended prison sentence.
Nice. Anyone wanting to attack the Police, hold them hostage etc. can rest easy knowing they'll probably not get a stay at HM hotel for a bit.

Can't wait for the cop-knockers to turn up and tell us how the sergeant deserved it.

Neither can I or else I'll have to go on a "management advice course"

Yep. Amazing how some people that can't go more than 3 words without swearing get all upset when spoken to in 'robust' terms.

I've often wondered why anyone would want to be a police officer in this PC obsessed country and this sort of thing just adds to my incredulity - I wouldn't do it for any amount of money!

It seems to me that the current 'system' bends over backwards to excuse, forgive or overlook all sorts of hideous and obnoxious behaviour on the part the miscreant sections of our society but doesn't afford anywhere near that level of 'understanding' to the police we all rely to protect us from their antics.

I remember a policeman friend telling us a tale about arresting a TV/TS, who played up big style.
He said she/he had on poison perfume, and the smell made him feel sick.
His Mother then went and bought his wife some, just for a laugh.
His wife puts it on now when she wants him to stay clear of her!;)

I'm pretty sure what ever one was used he'll have heard it before.

I've got a hole in my heart and they used a Taser, which could have killed me.
Well maybe then you should have calmed down when one was pointed at you and small red dots appeared on your chest if you felt a medical condition could cause the Taser to kill you.

Nah that'd be too much like taking personal responsibility...

No surprise here sadly seems to be par for the course these days nothing like the rules supporting the police is there. Seriously i doubt this citizen had not been sworn at before and am damn sure he has used the same if not worse language on other members of the public. He should have been told to grow up and if you don't like being talked\treated badly don't do it to others. I really wish i could see an end to the insanity that is our country right now but i can't .

This is stupid, I await the day when Police Officers are told not to touch anyone they arrest for fear of being charged with assault themselves....or maybe that already happens.

Any how I think I may have an idea what this man objected to being called. I think that ....
Quote:

"The police officer openly admits he made the inappropriate comment about Mr Francis after the strip search had been conducted.
gives the biggest clue and I can only assume Mr Francis was sensitive about the Police Officer commenting on the size of a certain diminutive appendage he had seen.

You already get people telling you "If you touch me its assault, I'll get you done" or "I know my rights, you can't handcuff me"

Amazingly enough in 99.9999999% of cases the next thing that happens is the person uttering the phrases finds out very quickly that it isn't assault and they can be handcuffed. :D

Just another example of, why, the world laughs at us. I`m in Amsterdam at the moment, my brother has just read the thread & gone off, laughing. I`m trying to think of something constructive to tell him. But there is nothing.:(
