I feel like crap

My nan died today. After all the trouble I been having lately. Everything has just got on top of me

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=941509

The nosebleeds started today at my first day back at work and I got sent home. My ex who I love very much told me we would stay friends. Only now she is ignoring me and its hurting me so much.

Already on anti depressants but I feel like crap.

I just want this to end

Man, it doesn't get much worse than that.
Sometimes life just seems to deal you a bad hand. Stay strong, it can only get better.

Re: I feel like crap

Hi,

I'm really sorry to hear about your Gran.
I know that it must be a hard time for you, especially with everything else going on right now.

All I can say to you based on my experience is don't bottle things up. If you need a good cry and need some space do it. Maybe try to get away from everything for a couple of days.
It's good to be away from everything to clear your head.

I know that it is often impossible to clear the thoughts and feelings of someone from your mind but I've been told it does get better. I'm currently in a similar stuation whereby my longest lasting girlfriend and I have basically come to an end and although it is driving me crazy, I have to try and step back from it all. I've been trying to see friends and get involved in other things to spend my time.
With me it's one minute she wants me back, the next she doesnt. This just ends up causing more hurt as feelings bounce backwards and forwards and you don't know anything anymore.
Try not to end up in that situation and instead focus on spending time doing other things.

At the end of the day you may not want to hear this but in a way it is good she told you the way she felt as it means you won't get hurt any more.
I know it is hurting now but it will get easier eventually. Hang in there. We are all here on the forums whenever you need to chat.

As for your nose bleeds, it is good you have gone to the doctors. I used to have some and my doctor gave me these sticks that would help the clotting a lot faster. Maybe you could try those.

I wish you all the best. I know it's not easy, but you can get through this.

:ghugs:

It's really hard especially when everything is happening at once, it makes life worse as you keep thinking what's next?

The only advice I can give you, is talk to someone, anyone. You can give the Samaritans a call? Here's their web site... http://www.samaritans.org/

Also...

http://www.helpguide.org/mental/depr..._treatment.htm

How old are you? By the way, the anti-depressants can take 6 to 8 weeks to actually kick in, so give them time.

There's always someone available on here to speak to if you're having a bad time.

That's ok, I was worried that the medication might have had undesirable side affects if you were in your teens. You should be ok as long as you stick to the correct dosage. And remember it does take time, but you should feel the benefits soon.

Sorry to hear your going through such a hard time Central. I would echo what other's have said about talking to someone. A friend if possible but if not then elsewere as mentioned.

You'd be surprised the amount of weight that can be lifted sometimes just by talking to someone. At least this is whats helped me through troubled times and I am normally one to keep things locked up tbh.

I hope and have faith that you will have much better times to come so try to focus on that and keep yourself busy were possible and your mind off things which lead you to feel down.

It will.

All pain lessens day by day until eventually you find that it does not dominate your thoughts first and last thing at night.Try not to let things overwhelm in the meantime. If they do talk to anyone who might help.Your doctor maybe of help if you have trouble sleeping or need a counsellor.

Try to keep your chin up...:hugs:

Death is horrible, we have just had a death in our family, my aunty, perfectly healthy, 45, just here one second, not the next.

Keep strong, focus on the positive memories, you will get through this.

Re: I feel like crap

It's so hard coping with a break up,but to suffer a bereavment at the same time is terrible.
I split up with my partner of over 10 years about 3 years ago.I still have dreams and wake up in a total panic.I can usually cope with it now,but the worst thing is similar to the op,she gets in touch now and again, just for a chat type of thing as friends,it throws me back, but have'nt got the guts to tell her to leave me alone.
As others have said, talking helps much more than anti d's,for a start they take too long to kick in,but a friendly, understanding ear is instant.Try not to lock yourself away, try to get out,but do avoid any trigger points,ie,things you used to do together or places that have a special meaning to you.
Do you have a herb shop like Holand and Barret near you?
Get some Valerian root very good for relaxation and non addictive, should help with the sleeping.
Remember, you think you're the only one right now, plenty of people feel just as bad or even worse, try to hang on,things WILL get better!!
:)

It's really annoying when everything goes wrong at the same time and it must feel like the end of the world. But it will get better. Hang in there. You can get through this and will get through it. It can take time, but it will get better.

it happens.. :) if you want to cry then cry, no-one's going to judge you for it. well not on here anyway.

I've totally been there with depression, I just find it best to occupy myself with something other than my thoughts about me, why I wasted so many years of my life, etc. - my Dad died when I was little, and he was my motivation. Shortly after my nan died too. (Mum got really depressed and has since had ect - she can't remember a lot of stuff, including having the treatment - although it has to be said, it worked.) I flunked school, no-one pushed me, no-one cared that I was bunking lessons every day...

I am very lucky to have a job now, and a husband who knows how hard it is for me to actually get out of bed every day & get to and do my job (I'm antisocial, and though still depressed am not taking meds as we're trying to concieve - have pcos though), so is often with me at my job to support me. I have two cats, and my few friends don't live nearby so thank goodness for the internet. Unfortunately this often results in comfort eating - while working in a shop is not a good combination!

Anyway, sorry for rambling, I just wanted to tell you that things will get better. You will get through this, and there is no shame in crying. I still bawl sometimes especially when I really have to force myself to do something - like go to work, or go down town on a bus! Sometimes even for 'no reason'... ;)

Re: I feel like crap

I used to take Citalopram, but had to change to another antidepressant because they didn't work for me.

But remember, they won't work right away, you'll probably feel some mild side affects first, I used to take mine first thing in the morning, but they made me feel sick to the stomach. So I started taking them at night instead, I'm back to taking them in the day now because my body has gotten used to them over the years.

Take care.
