When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
I am using Firefox 3 or IE and when I try to access the O2 Online store http://shop.o2.co.uk I get the error file not found or this page cannot be displayed.
It will work through a proxy site no problem. Im using a Linksys WRT54GS router and its the only site that will not work, even with the modem plugged directly into the PC it doesnt work. Its really starting to bug me now as its the only website that does it. Please help. Cheers |

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
I still cannot get on to the O2 store site.
I am still getting the "File Not Found" error on Firefox Anyone got any further ideas as to what I can do to fix it |
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Can you get to http://shop.o2.co.uk/home ? If not can you get to http://88.221.178.128
If you can get to the numerical one but not the named one, then its more than likely a DNS issue (which is why a proxy would work as opposed to not working without a proxy) |

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
All the text links are working from here, but both numerical links don't work!
Try clearing your cache |
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Cleared my cache and still no joy on both FF and IE7 used CCleaner as well
My router is a Linksys WRT54GS would changing any settings on that work |
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
What's the DNS setting on your router and does your PC point to router for DNS?
|
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
I just tried out of curiosity to access 02 online shop and had the same problem. Is it as simple as they are just having a problem at their end?

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Link still working here

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
I have been having the problem for weeks but it works on my work pc no problem.
Regarding DNS settings on my router i have set up static DNS to connect to the PS3 on DNS 1 and 2. Regarding your second question Bonzoe I dont know how to check that This is the following i can change in the that are around the DNS: DHCP Server: Enables Starting IP Address.xxx.xxx.x.xxx Maximum Number of DHCP Users: 50 Client Lease Time: 0 Static DNS 1: 19x.xxx.x.xxx Static DNS 2: 19x.xxx.x.xxx Static DNS 3: Blank WINS: 0 |
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Your DNS on the router should normally point to your ISP DNS server (194.168.8.100 for VM cable).
PC DNS is found by going to command prompt, then typing "ipconfig /all" and in my setup this points to the IP of my router. |
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
I have vista and that ipconfig is different from what it was on XP. but that address is the same address for my Static DNS 2
|
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
I don't understand why you have DNS pointing to PS3 (Playstation?) Try setting up IPs for DNS as I suggested above, i.e. on router to point to your ISP DNS server and on PC to point to router IP.
If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas, I am just assuming the your router has a similar requirement to mine, but I am not familiar with Linksys routers. Good luck. |

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Change your static DNS1 on the router to the VM one and static DNS2 to an OpenDNS server (eg 208.67.222.222). WHY did you change the static dns to the PS3's IP address? That doesn't make much sense and could be why you're having the problem.

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Totally agree with haydnwalker, but just wonder if madzo2008 knows how to follow this through. He also needs to get his PCs set up so that DNS points to IP of router (as I suggested earlier).
|
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Yes... all PCs need changing to request a DHCP DNS address from the router. I presume the OP knows how to change these as he/she has already managed to change to static DNS addresses on the router and changed it to the PS3.

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
Changed the DNS1 & 2 to what I was told, how do I get the PC set up so that DNS points to the IP of the router??
I also had DMZ enabled for the PS3 as well. But after changing the 2 DNS still wouldnt work |
Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
That depends on which OS you are using on the PCs, so let us know.
Have a look here, see if it helps http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/80...xy-server.html |

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
It is similar to XP
Control panel - Network connections - Local area connection - Internet Protocol V4 - Properties - select "Use the following DNS server address" and Enter the IP of your Router. To be on safe side, repaet for IP V6. The above applies to a wired connection, but I expect that wireless will be similar. I have checked the above link which I gave and the procedure is basically the same, certainly enough info there to set up DNS on Vista I would have thought. |

Re: When Trying to Access O2 Online Store....
SOLUTION
O2 thinks that you are outside the UK. Try accessing BBC iPlayer (http://bbc.co.uk/iplayer) to see whether you can access a video there or not. If not then your service provider gives you a NON-UK IP address. If you're in the UK with a UK IP address then you shouldn't get the 'Not found' error. |
