Hi I don’t suppose any one has the code on the pamphlet which was sent through with every ones bill this month with introduce a friend and get £50 pound of each of your bills as I have gone and binned it

You don't need a code to refer a friend. There are two options, either you phone Customer Care and give them you own and your friends details. They will fill in a form which gets your friend a call from Telesales. They will give you a lead ID/reference number.

Or your friend phones sales and tells them you referred them and gives your account details. again they get a lead id/reference number

Once the first bill is paid, you both get £50

I just asked my friend for their account number before I signed up, then mentioned it when I signed up (you have to do it over the phone).

You don't have to do it over the phone, field sales can also apply this offer.

Never said they were.

But I doubt Telesales outright lie less than *some* Field Sales agents do. 'Oh yes of course you can have a 4 month contract' etc

To be honest only the CMC are guaranteed to put the RAF through, and that's cus they get paid extra for doing so...

I'm pretty sure if all sales rep got the £5 per form that CMC got then a lot more would be put through!

Although more and more are being put through these days...its just stupid the amount of people who are advised that they can have the credit and then no form is filled in...the sales rep would blatantly know that the customer wouldn't be getting that credit without the form being filled in!

Is it just the account number your friend has to quote, or do they have to quote your name and address too?

All that sales need is the account number and your name. Obviously they can get anything else from the billing system ;)

Hi for a full referral we need Both the new and existing customers name, full address and at least 1 contact number...

You will be asked to agree to a disclaimer that states you have your friends permission to give out their details.

That is only needed if the existing customer gives the details to Customer Care for the Refer a Friend sales callback

If your friend goes straight to sales, they don't need to give as much information

Which has resulted in many unappilied credits or cmc having to dig deeper to check the referall

I think that the customer must sign up for at least 2 products to qualify for the £50.

Only excluded products are standalone broadband and tv. if you just have a VM phone line it is fine

I have just done this i phoned sales direct i said i want to take advantage of this £50 offer. They said ok and asked for account number. I gave them my account number then gave them the postcode of my parents house who want broadband and they are on expensive talk talk phone service (never heared of) The sales operator said i will put £50 credit on your bill i then put my parents on they will be getting XL phone and M broadband it actualy turned out my parents had an old account left on with £26 credit left on there from where they had telewest some 14 years ago.

I do think this is a good offer and could help cable get some old customers back with cheap starter bills.

Unlikely...i could almost guarantee that the £50 credit won't be on the first bill.

Second bill is the most likely bet...

I forgot to tell Virgin when signign up about a referral, can i do this now? a week later?

That is not how the scheme works. You have to give the details when you sign up.

I told him i was getting it cause of good reports from a mate at work.

But nothing was mentioned on the refferal scheme.

In saying that, i was also told i'd be charged £34.50 for Phone M and Broadband XL.

But after ringing CS they told me i'm on the £21 for 6month deal then £31.

Seems the sales agent knew NOTHING

That sucks...he probably didn't make you aware as he receives no incentive himself for this scheme...wouldn't be surprised!!!

tbh we rarely see it on the second bill, sometimes the referral team need a kick up the backside to sort the credit out...
