Stabbed to death on shop trip

wonder if this was just random or gang related...by looks of it though does seem like they just jumped out of a car and stabbed him for no reason, but I suppose the bigger story has to come out...'

The thing is...are we reacting to what has always been happening but never got media coverage the way it is now. It seems like the media jump on one subject and follow through with loads of the same subject, then its the same another week for something else.

When someone was stabbed the other week, on the same news item on TV they had a story about someone in the army, and their photo was of them holding a gun with a knife attached. Either way it is still not good news, but does it seem to be getting worse because of the media.

It's fever pitch at the moment, every single stabbing is reported it would seem. While each is a diaster it is not clear if there has been a sudden increase or not.

100% agree its no different than 10 years ago - Its just what the press are focussing on

Ye. at one point news spread by word of mouth, then printing press, wire, radio, TV, and now we have the chaos of the internet. Whatever next?...

Large amounts of pain most probably.

More and more details are coming out about the suspect who allegedly stabbed the 15 year old girl, seems like he was her 21 year old stalker.

That's ok because I can't be nominated for the MHP anyway because I organise it.

Apparently his attacker had mental health problems.

Link

Violent attacks by mentally disturbed people do seem to be becoming more prevalent...

That'll be 'care in the community' in action.

My wife works in a Mental Hospital and the `consultants` come in for a ward round, have a cursory glance at the notes, sometimes a quick interview with the patient( and they`re always on their best behaviour of course) and declare that " They`re cured" send them home and 2 weeks later they`re back under section.!:(
Luckily, the patients she works with are normally old with dementia etc and unable to run around stabbing people.

Re: Stabbed to death on shop trip

Consultants are the biggest problem the NHS has as far as i am concerned. They get their training on the NHS then go off and get private sector jobs usually while holding down a post in the NHS as well. Last consultant i had to see was a complete joke he never looked up from organising his golf diary and said "go away lose some weight come back in six months" that was in response to me having a fused spine. It is time they had to choose either private and repay some of their training costs or NHS but they shouldn't be allowed to have it all ways.

Yup. Try getting someone clearly in need of help into a mental hospital. It's a tricky task.
They end up in a vicious circle of Police Cell > Court > Home > Street > Police Cell > Court etc.
