Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
Hello!
Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place! I'm due an upgrade on my mobile phone and I'm unsure which new to choose? I've currently got a Samsung U600 and have had nothing but problems with it, so I'll not be choosing Samsung again! I'm not fussed about which brand, but it needs to have a good camera. Any advice welcomed! K x |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
I'd recommend any of the Nokia N-Series...especially the N95. Its a popular and useful handset. Good camera and media features and not too huge or heavy.
Downside is, if you like to be individual then this phone is probably not the best as many people have them now (which is a testament to how good they are really). |

I'm considering the LG Viewty or the Sony Ericsson k850i. Does anyone have experience of these?

Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
The gadget show did a test a few weeks back and the Nokia N82 came out top (although the tests are a bit over the top for the average life);
http://gadgetshow.five.tv/jsp/5gsmai...ction=Features I know someone with a viewty and all I can say is that I'm impressed with it. Well built, good LCD display, easy to use. The only downer is the battery life is a little poor, when you start watching a lot of video, otherwise it's a :tu::tu:. Go down your local Carphone Warehouse and have a play. |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
The LG Viewty is a fantastic phone. I had a play around on one the other week and was going to upgrade to it from my N95 which is also a fab phone.
However I went for the new Samsung U900, so far I like it but after having the N95 there are so many things I miss I might just put the U900 on Ebay and keep the N95. |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
What's the Viewty like to compose text messages? I'm concerned it would be difficult to use for this!

Thanks for that, I've ordered the Viewty, to be delivered tomorrow. Will let you know how I get on! I called the rententions department to say I was thinking of cancelling in light of all the problems I've had with the U600 and they also reduced my tariff by £10 a month and gave me more minutes too! |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
I'm waiting on the N96 :)

Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
Did you checkout reviews on Youtube? I did tons of research before deciding on the n95 8gb - It's the best phone i've had to-date.

Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
U sed to have a samsung D600, it was a fantastic phone, then I got a Sony ericsson w810i again fantastic phone, probably best I have ever owned. Now I have a samsung G600, pretty to look at, but a horrible phone.
I would go for a sony ericsson from now on in. I was thinking of selling this and getting the se w580i thats only my opinions though |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
I've had the N95 for over a year now and ive decided not to upgrade yet - there is no better phone on the markey yet and its worth waiting for the N96 in August

Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
Just recently got a HTC tytn2 (Kaizer), Brilliant in terms of features, the keyboard makes it so easy to send an email or sms.
Battery life is poo tho Then again it is a PDA/Phone so it's not that suprising. |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
yeah got the N95 8gb edition now for a bit more then a week and its a good phone :) and probably for the moment the best on the market.
SE doesnt have anything great out at the moment, okay K850 is good but missing either Wlan or GPS 2 functions that are quite handy. also if you are on O2 you can get any kind of bolt on to your contract, I've gone for data as I use that more then the 600 mins or the 600 texts. |

Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
Hmmm, so I have the phone now....but I've managed to block it and need a PUK code. Is there any way to get this apart from via customer services (who I can't call because my phone's locked)!? I've not got my landline plugged in at the moment (I only have it for broadband).

Whos your provider? You can get a PUK code online with O2 I've recently got an iPhone via O2 and the battery life on that is poo although the rest of the features are quite handy, i'm just waiting on a headphone adaptor that ive ordered because the headphones that come are poo aswell (they dont stay in my ears). I'm on the 600mins & 600txts tariff and it also comes with unlimited data (though mainly used via WLAN [not counting towards my data usage] as it doesnt have 3G (oh well)) |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
I'm on Orange, I got it unlocked online thanks....but the damn thing is faulty, it has no sound so I'm awaiting a replacement tomorrow!
Grrr why did I agree to stay with Orange knowing what they're like?! |

Had it mine since Launch and if the new one has a hard drive in it as well as 3g then I could well be tempted with it. |

I wonder if they'll offer new version as an upgrade to exisiting users once their contract runs out...? If so I'd consider it. |
Re: Which mobile phone to upgrade to?
I just had the chance to upgrade to a new phone but opted to keep the one I've already got (K800i), as that phone is still good enough today easily. Instead I opted for the same tariff but for half price for the next 12 month contract. Works out better in my opinion.
