Never works for the news. The only time it works is for certain sports events like Wimbledon tennis.Personally I'd rather have the news but I'm apparently a minority.

Damn sports fans...

Unfortunately ex-ntl don't currently have News Multiscreen. Losts in the mists of time as to why not.

Think it may be to with the two networks that ex-ntl has compared to the one ex-tw has

if ex-ntl currently doesnt have newsmultiscreens er why not ?

VM have made much of standardising the channel line-ups for ex-telewest and ex-ntl

why can't they run a cable from telewest-HQ to ntl-HQ and simply send the signal for the multi-screens down it - they've got plenty of cables after all

They are working on it. It isn't the signal that is the problem it is the software application

They been working on it (unsucessfully apparently) for the many years I persevered with cable tv. Pressing red and waiting for the box to crash was such fun.

Thankfully I've given up cable TV for sky+ and freeview. Now everything red button wise works as it should. :tu:

Yet the first true new application Virgin have done in conjunction with the BBC, works everywhere :P Was delivered when Virgin said it would as well.

On the BBC news the newscasters always say, "you can press the red button for news multi screen if you have Freeview or Digital Satellite" there's never any mention of cable. Its a pity because for me at least, and Coggy:), the news multi-screen is the one interactive service Id really like.

Yes I like it and use it all the time.

I never dumped cable tv to get sky1 back, it was because the sky TV service is just, well, so much better than the cable service.

Red button services that work are just one example. Rarely having to reboot the box is another. There are many more.

the red button & digital teletext always work on Sky which with VM on the other hand can be hit & miss.

Can anyone tell me why it is that the red button on VM is so temperamental? I generally find it times out late at night on BBC channels, then you have to press the blue button so as to make the controller work again.

Be thankful IF you can get it to work.;)

Sorry, another show off!

I get BBC news on the red button on V+. It could be faster, but not too bad

The red button for Virgin Central "press red button sit back and enjoy" has never worked. However, after losing services for a couple of hours recently due to a local fault, the red button now works. Ain't life strange.

i would of thought that its mainly cuz of costs.
