MSN Messenger not working?

Hi all,

Is anyone else having a problem signing into messenger tonight? Ive tried both MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger and both refuse to sign in. http://webmessenger.msn.com doesn't work and neither does http://messenger.msn.com which redirects to the live site. Both are dead.

Try agile messenger or trillian...
Personally not had any problems with MSN messenger tonight but it has been a little flakey over the past couple of days signing out and back in...

No problems in Nottingham. What error code do you get? google it...

http://status.messenger.msn.com/Status.aspx says no known problems

Just logged in Live Messenger in Leeds - working ok.

You may wish to asterisk out your IP address.

I tried a tracert to that address, and it died at the same place yours did.

I'm not fussed if someone gets my IP anyway. They won't get anywhere. Infact, here it is 127.0.0.1

(some n00b will actually try that IP only to find they hack themselves...!)

Its an MSN issue, well, Microsofts network. I've just run tracert's from two USA based servers, and they all time out where it should hit M$'s network, just as it does here at home.

It seems that no microsoft site except for www.msn.com is working for me.

Now also confirmed from another VM user than MSN isn't working.

And again....
Having problems here too connecting to MSN, using any actual chat client anyway.Traceroutes are also timing out over MS`s end but i can connect to MSN using the Ebuddy site ok.

Not really going to help if the network's having problems. But, yes, I've been having problems in Notts as well.

Trillian is nice, but I don't know anyone who uses the other networks. I remember when it was all ICQ lol
