Merged-D-day for Glasgow 2014 bid

friday's the day Glasgow will know if thay have won the bid to host 2014 Commonwealth Games,

If thay do win this bid it's only because the canadian city of halifax pulled out of the race so thay'd be default winners

Why am I having vision of the scene in Trainspotting where American tourist comes into the pub and asks 'May I use your bathroom' - and all the gang follow him in there to rob him?

"Shots" being the operative word, as in "shooting up"......

I don't know what you mean - I'm far too innocent to know that expression - I thought trainspotting was a film about British Rail - am I wrong?

It is excellent news for Glasgow &, hopefully, a boost for sports in general across Scotland. :tu:

Rumours that the Nigerian city spoiled their chances by asking for the Commonwealth Games Council bank account details so they could place a deposit for their proposed stadium, haven't been proved ;)

If I get a chance and I'm not working at them I'll head off to see a few things. If my passport and vaccinations are up to date I might even head to the east end ;)

Commonwealth Games For Glasgow

I wish to congratulate Glasgow on winning the 'Games' for 2014, they are superb people, and very proud of there city, l have been to Glasgow and l am married to a Glasgowian, and l have been there loads of times over the years, the only thing that l would say is maybe they can find the funds to rejuvenate the parts of the City that WON'T be seen on telly, as there are many parts that are in bad need of finance, some of the housing estates need a coat of paint, and yet the people that live there are brilliant, and proud, l recently went to the St. Enoch centre in Glasgow, and it was out of this world, the design of this place, was excellant, compared to what the area was like 30 years ago.:)
