Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
Its an generic cheap-as-chips one, no obvious name on it. It cost me £9 I think, about 3 years ago. It does what it needs to do though.

Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
And that is?

Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
AdVent from pcworld cost me £10

Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
Hmm, what about bluetooth devices? 1.1, 1.2 etc? Do they support many different profiles as they are called or not, etc

Mikomi 20m Bluetooth USB Adaptor.
Should I take my chances and just get this, and see whether it has all the features a much more pricey one would have. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...TH+USB+ADAPTER |
Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
As has been said before, they're all much the same. The dongle just facilitates a connection to another device such as a phone. Everything else is in the software.
I use a £6 cheapie from Tesco to connect to my phone. Coupled with the Motorola software it enables me to upload ringtones and download piccys. |
Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
So your saying that the cheap ones there can do just as the expensive ones can do?

Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
Web access for a mobile device on a £6.99 USB bluetooth.

Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
I have one & I use it to access my nokia phone, backup stuff from it such as contacts, pictures, videos etc. I have also used it with my phone to access the internet when mine has been down & it ran very well. If your going to be using it for this sort of thing then I would highly recommend getting one, hell just buy one, not like they cost an arm & a leg.

Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
My daughter bought one today (£5) so she could transfer her phone pictures and video to her laptop.

Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
I have one kicking around somewhere
Probably only bluetooth 1.0 since its getting on for 4 - 5 years old. As for features depends on what OS its being used with and what the drivers are I have the newer bluetooth 2.0 with EDR built-in to my laptop so I've never bothered to replace the dongle, seldom use it as I just pop the memory card from my phone in the pc's card-reader (much quicker ;) ) |
Re: Who has a bluetooth USb adapter
I use a cheapo one. I use it with Microsoft sms sender to send messages through my Nokia using an interface on the PC while I am at work. This way I am not seen typing on my phone when at work, instead I am typing on my PC,
