You need your eyes tested. And while you're at it, get checked out for whatever other sensory impairment prevented you from recognising BSG s3 for the superb telly that it was.

Few shows in recent years have been so good at driving the plot forwards, and allowing central characters to grow and to change, as this has, and s3 was no exception.

The time spent on new caprica was (to me) a welcome change from being chased by the cylons every episode.. i liked it :) and with the new cylon twist it was for me an enjoyable season.

Nope.


Sky One does definitely have the rights to season 4, but *not* to Razor (I emailed them almost two weeks ago, & got a reply the next day).

I also emailed Virgin 1, asking them to confirm the Razor rumours, but *still* have had no reply.

Someone in the Virgin 1 thread posted a Virgin 1 schedule for November (1st November I think), which had Razor listed. They didn't give a source though, & haven't made any subsequent posts.


But, if Sky do not have Razor, then I can only assume that Virgin 1 does. Who else would show it?


Anyone got DigiGuide & able to check the V1 listings for November?

I would have thought if Virgin had Razor they'd be making a big song and dance about it.

I mean they're banging on about the SJ Chronicles all the time and we wont see that until something like March 08.

I would have thought it unlikely that anyone other than Sky has Razor - there is normally a 'first refusal' clause in contracts when a channel buys a new show. Sky is the incumbent rights-holder and it's highly unlikely they would pass up the rights to Razor - unless the producers have stuffed the price right up, which is why C4 walked away from Lost.

I don't think that's likely though. There isn't another broadcaster out there as willing to chuck stupid great wads of cash at sub-million ratings figures as Sky.

I can't think of anything new that UK Sci-Fi shows though apart from Eureka, & that's after Sky One has shown it.


I agree that if Virgin had it, you'd think they'd make a fuss.

So far, it's just a rumour that Virgin has it, & the person who said they had it hasn't posted since & never gave a source.

But Sky say they don't have it, so surely someone must.





I also would have assumed that Sky would have the rights to it, especially as they have shown the series itself from the pilot & season 1 onwards.


But... Sky told me that although they have the rights to season 4, they do *not* have the rights to Razor.

Also, Sci Fi US are apparently considering splitting season 4 in two, with the second half to be shown in 2009. :rolleyes:

Hopefully they will realise how stupid such an idea is.

Unfortunately, IMO US networks are masters of stupidity, so it probably will happen.

Yup, I watched it on Sky 1 tonight, rather than, erm, flying to America via Broadband Airlines...


Very good.

Pity there was no big battle, but the trailer (which the Sky man was talking over :rolleyes: ) suggests it's next week.


Great drama / character episode.

Very surprised about Adama temporarily resigning & going off 'cos he can't live without Laura.

Not too surprised that Lee ended up President.

I don't get it though... I thought the Cylons couldn't reproduce amongst themselves, & that's why the human/Cylon hybrids are so important.

Then again... they have said more than once that the Final Five are "different" to the other humanoid Cylons...

Razor was excellent, S4 got silly towards the end with Lee ending up president, should have appointed zerrick especially since adama quit and went silly. Is it just me or are they no nearer to earth than at the end of series 2? Starbuck went off on one to find it, came back with nothing apart from a base ship with a nutter in a pool of hair gel spouting nonsense....

It's probably better than a lot of shows I wouldn't watch anyway, but considering how far it has fallen from its once lofty heights, I no longer get any real pleasure from watching it. I just tune in now and then to see how it's all going to end.

The info I have is that Atlantis series 5 will screen from 11th July, but the movie (Continuum) is released direct to DVD on 29th July - has that changed?

Could anyone explain to me how i got so lost on this show?

I watched all of season 2 *cough* legally...and it ended where they are on the planet, he has the baby and see's the future or something along those lines (my mind is sketchy on the subject)

i started dvds from season 3 and all of a sudden there on a planet with the cylons controlling them etc, what exactly did i miss?...apparently i missed another mini series out, or something???

I gave up at this point...lol

Season 3 follows from when they landed on that planet but it jumps a few years into the future and stays there. Its not just a flash forward. Then Season 4 is them trying to find Earth.

During the final episode of season 2, it jumps forward to one year after they settled New Caprica, & see the arrival of the Cylons...

Season 3 carries on from that.

Trust me, you got out at the right time. The end of season 2 signalled a turning point for the worse, and season 3 was thought to be as bad as BSG could possibly get, but season 4 has somehow managed to reach a new low. It's no wonder that the show has lost nearly 70% of its viewership and that this will be its final season. It seems to me that most viewers are just hanging on to see how it ends. Ronald D Moore has disappeared so far up his own youknowwhat it isn't even funny, and unfortunately for us, he took BSG with him.

Well the ending was certainly unexpected. Its actually made me want to see the final 11 eps. Did anyone else notice that the final (12th/5th) cylon was not in the fleet ?

Maybe see the events of the mini-series and season 1 from the cylon point of view? Could include the mission Adama was on were they crossed the treaty line before the cylons attacked, the build up to the attack (including number 6 and Baltar), into the attack itself

Razor slots in there but isn't part of the main season and so far as I can see it isn't essential to the continuity, although it fills in some interesting background. It's really quite good though. :tu:

I quite enjoyed Razor, it did fill quite a few little gaps. Not essential as chros said in the series, but a great added bonus.
I just can't understand why such a large gap from ep10 to 11! the mid-season US gap tends to spoil things. I'll have to re-watch ep 1- 10 again before ep11 aires.
I hope a few extra one off films come from this franchise.

Yup. For production purposes it was classed as the first 2 eps of season 4 - but it isn't actually part of the season as such.


EDIT: Although, thinking about it, it probably is rather important.




I think it's 'cos SCI FI are a bunch of numpties, basically.
