Ooooooo look at this mate imho the best sticks of RAM you can buy (on a budget)

AND LOOK AT THE PRICE !

This week only @ £70.49 inc VAT

Crucial Ballistix low CAS highly overclockerable whilst keeping tight timings.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-088-CR&tool=3

The hardcore boys buy this in favour of so called faster RAM.

£88.11 inc via crucial direct
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/part...2KIT12864AA663

EDIT : Damn its SOoooooooo tempting.

---------- Post added at 18:11 ---------- Previous post was at 18:08 ----------

grrrrrrr I'm looking at RAM prices and have noticed them drop further. I paid 90 for some OCZ platinum only a few days back (which is crap anyway not recommended by me) and they are like 75 on overclockers now.

zing_deleted 16-05-2007 22:16

Re: Special offer hardware

thing is where is it gonna end? I dunno if my memory is failing me but I aint been this excited about ram prices since I first got 512 meg of ddr400 for 40 quid and thought wow cheap but 2 gig of good stuff for 70 quid and no reason for it to stop falling yet

22" monitor cheap as chips - Linkage

I've got one of these and it's very good - no ghosting in games and loads of desktop real estate....

Negatives are - only has VGA connection, and colour balance is not spot on - although you'd have to be a pro designer type person to notice... as a chuffing huge screen it's great! :)

oh yeah, get £10 off if you use google checkout too...

Okay, but it is computer related!

http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/GPS,+Inte...?sku=AV1570528

Garmin C330 satnav for £123.38 including delivery and VAT. Very up-to-date maps are available for free download too. Available until stocks exhausted.

Edit:

I forgot to mention that, as a by product of upgrading the mapping in the C330, you also end up with a free copy of Garmin's MapSource software to run on a PC. This gives you access to the same mapping and routing algorithms on your PC. It can also download tracks from other Garmin devices (like my Foretrex ;) )that support this feature and display them on the map. Recommended.

Found via hotukdeals site

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123115/rb/28421601736

Acer Turon64 @ 2ghz laptop with 512mb ram, wi-fi dvd-rw 60gb hdd. Vista home basic.

£300 (£290 with google checkouts £10 off offer ;))

Ebuyer quickfind code: 123115

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=125870

Lenovo 3000 C200 8922 - Celeron M 430 1.73 GHz - 15" TFT

wi-fi, dvd writer, 512mb ram 80gb hdd, vista home basic

Ebuyer quickfind code: 125870

£300 (£290 with google checkout offer)

Apart from the fact they could use a bit more ram for vista those seem a fairly good spec for the money, and some fairly decent brands to.

zing_deleted 07-06-2007 08:51

£133 quid inc vat ;) take it you took google checkout off but then you need to add delivery :)

Tightscot 07-06-2007 10:46

Re: Special offer hardware

aye took the google tenner off but ignored delivery as tbh it's pretty much always a tenner from wherever you order... give or take a couple of squid :)

and before anyone says 'Ebuyer does cheap supersaver deliveries' well yep thats true, BUT the last Hard drive i ordered shipped on supersaver and turned up in a jiffy bag - with pretty much all the bubble wrap popped... :Yikes:

EDIT - although that Belinea 22" monitor in my previous post is now £160 including Vat and has free Supersaver delivery - wouldn't think they could use a jiffy bag for it so should be OK!

LOLz money well spent.

Google checkout gets the :tu: from me.

Lets get back OT now ;)

Was very tempted by ebuyers free delivery on plasmas but they dont stock any decent ones.... If anyone knows of a supplier offering free delivery on plasmas/LCD TVs then let us know :)

(delivery on such items is kinda costly @ 50-100 quid a pop)

zing_deleted 11-06-2007 17:06

Re: Special offer hardware

Ok the advertising for the 10 quid off has gone off aria and ebuyer still showing on svp however if you select google checkout you still get the tenner off so dont expect it to last much longer

You too can sing the blues : Sorry mate.

Anyway I think I have my own little personal battle going on with ebuyer....

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/110379

The product title says : ' P4/k7/k8 Cooler '

ITS NOT A K7 COOLER GRRRRRRRRRR

There are 2 versions of the cooler 1 is the lite version (the one they sold me) and the other has the socket A retention clip GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I should have looked at the model number but since the product title said k7 cooler I thought it was the one silly me I should have known better.

I'm still awaiting a replacement for some ram i RMA'd to aria

First they kept telling me the RMA was on their old system, then they claim royal mail has lost the replacement.

Well i filled in the form royal mail sent me still not heard anything, so now i'm not sure i want to deal with aria again in a hurry, pity because they were pretty good up until then.

Same with eclipse computers had bad service from them on 2 occasions, haven't shopped with them since.

If your desk is against a wall, what about wall-mounting it?

<edit>
I mean wall-mounting the monitor. :)
</edit>

I thought about getting a 22" widescreen LCD to replace my old 20" CRT, but for some weird reason LCD monitors don't seem to do 1366x768 [higher res would be too small for me, plus I run my existing 19" LCD at 1024x768], yet LCD TVs do. I did look at 22-23" LCD TVs as a possible alternative, but the price &/or power consumption put me off of the ones I could find.

Pretty neat of them actually.

I guess it comes down to luck the whole online buying farce.

I also moaned at memorybits for sending me a broken card reader (well it was only one plastic panel that was broken ). Think I started off the mail asking them how on earth they got affiliated with google basket - that got me a free card reader heh - so now I have " 2 " card readers that I will probably never use :)
