Theres some really annoying ones on TV.

Ones that get me are the Geordie woman for the Loans company. josh looks like dad found your scooooteh.

And Shielas wheels advert. OHMYGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with Barewolf, both versions of the Picture Loans adverts wind me up no end, I have to put the TV on mute when they come on grrrrrrrr

Any advert that has obviously been dubbed, one that springs to mind is when some fella is sniffing the carpet :erm:

All those adverts that consist of random images and don't mention the product until the end, mainly car related I think, I've normally hit the remote by that point so I can't be sure. Also those adverts that are badly dubbed foreign imports, like the boiled rice in the geyser one.

I hate all of em.....

Because when the adverts come on I have to grab the emote to turn the sound down.

TV channels automatically increase the sound levels during adverts hoping it gets your attention.

Dont see many with Sky+ so i would have to say those ones that you get just before and after the commercial break, the sponsors adverts.

If only because you cant help but catch them when you slow down to normal speed.

Oh and anything which takes a popular old or classic song and rearranges the words to fit the advert, why songwriters allow this to happen i will never understand.

I try to be fair, I have watched all the adverts, and my considered opinion is ......I Hate Them All. There have been many irritating adverts produced, in the last few years, but none can compete with the smarmy old Ovaltine ads.

All together now....we are the Ovaltinies happy girls and boys.....now that's a song to have stuck in your mind for days:disturbd: . Nothing they produce nowadays is half as irritating.

Thanks to this thread I am now humming the blasted thing.:Yikes:

I was an exceptionally precocious child, my memories being older than my teeth!:p: I don't really know if I saw the original ads. They just seem to be there in my subconscious memory. The coke ads. don't really bother me, the Christmas ones are quite cheery.:) or should I say cheesy?

There is the M&S insurance one with Jodie Kidd I think.

They have her in a stock car racing when she has an accident, they mention hire car cover, then her stock car breaks down and they mention free breakdown recovery and then show her racing car being recovered.

Of course while all this is going on, at the bottom of the screen it says "Cars used for racing and competition excluded."

ANY ad on the radio. They seem to be unable to grasp the content of humour.

Then the (extremely quickly spoken) terms and conditions still last longer than the actual ad

:D It's a really daft advert, isn't it? Maybe we're supposed to wonder about the stories behind the people (like the woman being so touched that the bloke made her sandwich) but as you say you just think :nutter:.

Can't bear any loan adverts but any that feature The Vorderman and those bloody awful Picture ones are particularly dire.

any advert on a cable channel during the day. easily classified into
a) I fell over and i think i can make a bit of cash from it
b) I'm in loads of debt but borrowing more will help.

I would never take a service from any company that made such cringeworthy adverts. bleugh.

Most new album/single ads.


They all follow the same formula and have almost the same script.

They all have a sample from said single or album and a voiceover saying that this is best single/album this year/decade/century/eternity and that it is available on CD/download now/soon.

These ads are not so irritating themselves, but when you see three or four of them in a row (which Channel 4 loves to do), they get a little boring.

Also those insincere celebrities telling us about how great it is to borrow money from some non entity company, as if they'd know!

The adverts telling you to text this number to meet hot girls.
The guys get so distracted by the boobs on the screen they can't see the call charges at the bottom of the screen.
Add to that, a close up of some of the girls would have you running for the brown paper bag.

Annoying woman shouting Adiós when I know full well that the product is a pile of crap that will never move one gram of weight of anyone's backside.:mad:

I hate (although they do make me laugh) the cosmetics adverts, where a product is tested on about 274 people, or where the effects of make-up are enhanced in post-production.

If make-up needs enhancing in post-production it can't be that good.

Another one has just come to mind, its that awful loud guy who insists on shouting his way through the advert for "Safestyle" double glazing.
Its one of those rare ads that have united my family in reaching for the controller..."I SAID BUY ONE GET ONE FREE"!!!

There was an advert on yesterday for some kind of breakfast biscuit featuring Johnny Vaughan. Please, please someone make it stop. I'm sure these adverts are intentionally crap and feature the most annoying individuals solely to attract attention.

Agreed, and I am a fan of both Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowden.

My worst ad at the moment. Either the Go Compare one or that one with the load of dancers prancing round in time to an electro beat while singing the name of the company over and over again. I won't give the company any free publicity, so won't mention their name, but suffice it to say that they buy and sell cars and have a website.
