Yet another request for a remote code

Hi all - I know the forum is inunndated by these requests, however I am having problems.
I have a Samsung PS42D5SX tele, and the new Virgin V+ box.

Can I get the remote control codes to work ? - No chance.
I have tried just about every posting I can find for help, but am not making any progress.

So, can anyone help me, and post the correct code please.

Much obliged

Geoff

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

I know the engineers know a code that might work.

It did on my Wharfdale.

Maybe someone will come and tell us.

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

How do you find out the remote codes for the v+ box remote,i have a Toshiba 32WLT68 is there a code for this if so how do you input it in the remote.

geoffc 28-03-2007 00:42

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

First of all try the on-line help on the V+ box.
This will give you a 4 digit code the is supposed to allow your V+ remote to control the volume of your tele.
Hold down the Volume + and Mute keys for 3 seconds, and a red light will flash on the remote.
Then use the number pad to enter the 4 digits.
After each digit you will get a red light - if the remote accepts the code, then you will get a double light at the end.
You should then (in theory) be able to control some of the functions of the TV with the V+ remote.

However, not all codes work !

If the codes on the V+ box don't work, then the search begins .......

Good luck - it's taken me over a week to find mine !

On your V+ box go to Home, then go to Help & Info. Once you go on that go to option 8 about your remote. Then go on the first box about codes and TV makes.

Not sure about the location this post should be in,
but because of the amount of times "Remote Code" requests come up,
would it be an idea to have this "Remote Code" as a "Sticky" ?

Thanks for that, I forgot about my request for a code; I actually tried my Sky+ code a day after posting that, and it worked. The code that I'm using is '0065'- the 'problem' is, it *only* controls my TV's volume(/mute)- unlike the Sky+ remote, which controls channel changes and standby. I tried your code, and it works with my TV also- but again, only the volume. (Perhaps it's a limitation of the V+ romote control?)

So I still have to use my Sky+ remote for putting the TV into standby mode. :/

Thanks again, I meant to post here to say that I had resolved it (plus the code)- hopefully this will help others...

Take a look at this wiki page that has lots of codes on it

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...B_remote_codes

If anybody has any codes that are missing - Please add them!

I have a Hitachi C28W460N telly (just a CRT, nothing too fancy!!) and I've tried every single bloody code for Hitachi but the best I can manage is to get the mute to work. When I press vol down it turns on the teletext, so obviously some of the codes kinda semi work, but I haven't hit the right one yet.

Anyone got a suggestion?

we have a wiki link that we use in work for all the codes,
(As Above)
Press Volume+ & Mute for 3 seconds (till the light flashes on top of the remote control)
Then input the 4 digit number (u just put a zero in front of the 3 digit number from the link)
and test!

Its a list of ALL known codes for V+

Gd Luck :)

The Wiki article has been deleted by a Wiki administrator on the grounds "Wikipedia is not a how-to manual". I guess that such a list of codes would be better kept on this site than on Wiki.

Hi all, 1st time poster here.

Please can someone help me with a code for a Samsung CI-3373Z to work with my new V+ box. The remote for my old Virgin (Samsung) box was able to control my TV volume.

I have tried every code in the help menu and also 0079. The best result I get is that the mute works - but not the volume.

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

Hi aram, Just noticed your post. In case you are still looking in you could try 0646 which is used for some Samsung's in the CI range. Sky are also showing the additional numbers 0060 and 0398 which might work.

HELLLLLLLLP!!!

Didn't know where to post this, but I am desperately trying to get my Samsung LE26R74BD Tv to work with my replacement Sky Plus remote (I had to get a new one cos my puppy chewed the last two - it's a long story!!) I've tried all the others, it seems, and I know it can work because the Sky guy did it on my last one, but it isn't working!!!!

Can anyone give me some help before I shove this remote down my dear little puppy's throat?! (joke!!)

thanks:)

Just a question but why use PM?

If someone else has the same TV wouldn't it be helpful to post them here?

I haven't read the thread so apologies if i've missed the obvious reason why this was done.

Hello, JVC Tv's have always been a nightmare for codes. Try the following guide with 0999 as TV code. It should operate volume and mute for you after.

http://help.virginmedia.com/system/s...MER_TYPE=Cable

I will try and hunt one out for you. The guide above normally works when searching for code.
