crap i made a new thread, didnt see this, virgin media can not get away with 768k upload for ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£37 a month, they realy need to revise there upload speeds

they must do, they cant charge so much money for such a slow service (upload not download) they are takeing a big rist if thye go ahead with 768k...

I totally agree with you but I just can't see them increasing the upload to more than 1Mb... :(

I suppose the small print is important:

The line will be longer though.

The 3.4 miles is as the crow flies. I think its safe to assume the line does not take the same route.

Still incredibly tempting.. I'm inside 2Km, just. I guess I'd take the same kind of hit on upload speeds as I would for download speeds. For an extra fiver I don't know why I'm still with VM..

ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£16 extra a month for a slight increase in upload speed... doesn't seem to worth it, but their ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£24 deal is really good, a lot better then VM who are ripping their customers off.

If only they could actually deliver the speed they claim to all houses. Would rather pay virgins ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£35 for 9.5Mb than Be Pros ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£24 for 1Mb

2 people on my street have Be, they can get 20Mbps - not sure what upload they get though.

Be are really good, but are overcharging Be Pro, because they are the only ISP in the country that are offering this upload speed and are abusing their power.

the BE deal is very good indeed for people with a line that can handle it.

The reason why upload will be slow on VM is the headline figure is download speeds, isps know most people wont download more with 20mbit over 10mbit and remember upload contention is a killer on cable technology. 2mbit on a consumer cable product when they have people paying premiums for 2mbit leased lines? think about it.
