Who's the Man at Virgin/ntl?
Hello.
If I want to send some suggestions to the top guy at Virgin/ntl's customer support department, who should I address them to? An email address, or a postal address, would help, plus the name and title. And no, they're not the usual physically impossible suggestions, I really do want to try to offer ideas on ways in which they could improve the system. Or do you think I shouldn't bother, maybe. Steve Stewart, I believe.

At least he didn't call them ntl:virgin.....

Re: Who's the Man at Virgin/ntl?
Whatever you do, for God's sake don't mention the n-word* to Virgin Media. I called up to report a fault, which resolved itself. A lady called back following up on the fault (which was nice), asked for the account holder on my personal phone (so I know who it was). I said, "oh, are you from ntl?", to which I was chastised for (as if it makes a blinding bit of difference either way).
*ntl :erm: |
Re: Who's the Man at Virgin/ntl?
I called ntl:telewest business the other day to enquire about an ISDN line.
Not only did the bloke at the other end of the phone not know whether they did them, but asked me if it was an ntl or Telewest area. So word's not quite filtered down all the way yet! |

Rule one- the customer is always right.
This means you cannot chastise them. |

I hate that phrase with a passion as all the management tweeps who sprout it tend to be the ones who get promoted way above their ability beyond the actual workers. Most customers are always right. Some customers are very, very, very wrong. And some out and out lie to you. They are the ones who the rule doesn't apply to. |

I thought the customer was always right but not always correct

Re: Who's the Man at Virgin/ntl?
The customer is always a right pain in the backside.

Re: Who's the Man at Virgin/ntl?
i had a customer use that one the other day. she said she had given a 20 when cashed up the till was correct, so she comes out with, the customer is always right so give me my tenner!
as a general rule, the customer is always wrong, but you have to make them think they are right |
Re: Who's the Man at Virgin/ntl?
Interesting link
I especially liked this one - "Using the slogan “The customer is always right” abusive customers can demand just about anything - they’re right by definition, aren’t they? This makes the employees’ job that much harder, when trying to rein them in. Also, it means that abusive people get better treatment and conditions than nice people. That always seemed wrong to me, and it makes much more sense to be nice to the nice customers to keep them coming back." |
Re: Who's the Man at Virgin/ntl?
Gordon Bennett, I only asked for the geezer's name!
As it happens, I got a letter the other day from Steve Stewart, Managing Director, Customer Care, Virgin media, so thanks NTLVictim for that (or should you be renaming yourself VirginVictim?) I'll post if I ever get a response from Mr.Stewart.... (breath not held). Allen. |
