Will NTL's Free TV offer survive Virginercation?

Does anyone know if the Free TV offer:
http://home.ntl.com/websales/product.do?id=10423

...will still exist after the Virgin re-branding? My Dad is asking me about upgrading to Digital from Analogue and I suggested the Free TV package to him - but will it still exist after February 14th?

I think it does survive 'Virginercation', I've looked at the new prices from February 1st:

http://www.whycable.co.uk/pricechang...Price_List.pdf

....and the TV Size:M package is free (excluding £11 phone rental). Shouldn't that be the starter pack instead? Ho-Hum.

Here's a list of the channels you get: Channel Listing

I think you also get Sky One on the Free TV pack.

Yep, as far as I know it will cost you £28.99. :)

Re: Will NTL's Free TV offer survive Virginercation?

the free TV pack is essentially the freeview channels PLUS sky one

Re: Will NTL's Free TV offer survive Virginercation?

And, of course, access to On Demand which includes plenty of free content as well as the paid-for stuff. There's also more digital radio channels than you get on Freeview.

I'm getting very confused here. Their website says SKY1 is NOT in the free TV offer http://www.home.ntl.com/html/sorter/...ls_freetv.html , and this was repeated by a lady I talked to at NTL....

She said SKY1 is included in all packs, but NOT the free TV pack....

select http://www.home.ntl.com/html/sorter/...ls_select.html

base http://www.home.ntl.com/html/sorter/channels_base.html

family http://www.home.ntl.com/html/sorter/...ls_family.html

Everyone i've spoken to have said it's included in the free pack. If it's not then i have no incentive to get the free box. It used to be listed for the free pack on the NTL site when it first came out and it's still listed on Telewests site, so i'm thinking it is in the pack.

Re: Will NTL's Free TV offer survive Virginercation?

Sky One isn't listed on the website but it is definitely in the free pack. :)

Re: Will NTL's Free TV offer survive Virginercation?

Sky won't let Ntl have Sky3 which is what gets transmitted on Freeview so you will get either Sky1 or Sky2. Sky2 is pretty much Sky1+24Hrs :) so if the worse that can happen, happens, then you will just get Sky1 a bit later.

Actually Sky1 is the only positive thing that Ntl can provide to make this deal attractive as you can get freeview and a phone line for 11.00/month anywhere, maybe even cheaper than £11/month.

Just think if you lobbed out for a PVR with 3 freeview tuners, about £99.00 on ebay last time I looked, what a pretty good deal you'd then be getting with a £11.00 phoneline off someone and freeview. Makes you think don't it specially as the majority of the digital channels have been showing the same old stale repeatorama rubbish for the last 10 years. New content is about as rare as rocking horse you know what.

SnoopZ 30-01-2007 19:49

Re: Will NTL's Free TV offer survive Virginercation?

I don't think NTL need Sky Three as it's pretty much the same content as Sky One but 12 months old.
