On Demand not working

My On Demand hasn't worked since I got TV Drive installed. It works on the TV Drive box, but not on the other two. It's been nearly 2 months now without On Demand services.

Spoken to CS on dozens of ocassions and no further forward. Does anyone know if there's a known problem at the moment?

I had my TV Drive installed yesterday and the installer said On demand won't be available on TV drive until 14th Febuary. Don't know how true it is.

The On-demand service should be available within the next month on TV Drive. ;)

Enjoy :dunce:

I had the same problem, had it installed and the vod on my samsung went on the blink, the error code I got was IS001 which essentially means it's been blocked/downgraded, felt like a bit of a prat phoning up faults because I work in that department, 24 hours later the guy from back office managed to sort it out back on again now... :D

Re: On Demand not working

I don't think my VOD has worked at all since I had a Samsung STB installed (the old PACE box finally died - I don't miss it much!!) a couple of weeks ago (haven't tried it until the last couple of days:dozey:). When I press the On-Demand button, I get an M041 error, and when I clear this, I get an IS002 error.

I suppose I need to call Cust Services / Faults to sort this out? Any ideas?

i still have this exact same problem, when i rang faults they told me it was a national fault and it would be sorted from the 8th jan, yeah right still nothing!!!

Re: On Demand not working

Update on last night. I phoned faults this morning - got straight thru (good Brownie point there!). They said it was because my account didn't have VoD enabled and I needed to speak to Customer Services - they put me straight thru.

The extremely helpful lady at Cust Services (more Brownie points) said yes - the account didn't have VoD enabled, and she'd send stuff down the line - it would be working by tonight. Great. So far so good.

Back home tonight, thought I'd check out the VoD. Oh dear, no change, it's still not working, exactly the same as before. Well, I'll try to catch them again tomorrow, and see what the next instalment in the saga holds.

I haven't been on the forum for a while and I know I haven't read everything yet so please be patient with me but our On Demand hasn't worked for over a month now.

Whenever we try we get an NDE01 error and get asked to phone CS, which I did: "Ok Sir, someone will call you back within 48 hours". Hardly going to shock people but we didn't get a call.

A week later Mrs Gary phones and she gets told that it's a national problem and we would have to wait until it gets sorted. No prospective fix date as yet. I have a Samsung box with internet (4Mb) and haven't requested VoD or anything extra, it just stopped.

Just my experience.

mmmmmmmm. It's not sounding too good for me here then if that's anything to go by. I phone CS again this morning. Got thru quickly, but then spend quite a long time on hold. Then several visits for me to examine the STB (silver Samsung) in more detail to try to read the box's number (written in microscopic print below a barcode on the back). Think I eventually managed to read it, but only had my normal reading glasses which weren't really up to it! The issue's been sent to 2nd line support - so it sounds like it's going into limbo like your problem - doubt if I'll be in when they want to phone me, if that ever happens. Suppose I'll keep ringing on a daily basis until we get somewhere.:td:

Hi GaryS, I got the same error as you NDE01 when trying to get to VOD. It's been happening for a few days now. When I called yesterday I was told they'd escalate to their Level 2 support, who would call me within 4 days, but I'm not holding my breath either.

I wouldnt bother waiting 4 days, I'd get right onto retentions and get them to welly some backside.

the only thing that stops me complaining about the poor vod service is the fact that its a free service i didnt ask for it and i dont pay for it so contacting retentions to complain seems a bit daft!!

Dranny, how is it a free service? if you were not paying your monthly sub you would not get it ! ;)

dranny69 20-01-2007 09:12

Re: On Demand not working

But i paid the same amount before it was active, then when it worked i paid the same amount ie free service !!

Re: On Demand not working

150 from the phone at 1030 - 3 minutes of messages then a person, all done by 1038 - Well done CS that's great answer times.

Message -> Get told about people in Ashford getting new firmware. Nice one Ashford.

Message -> Customers in Basildon will experience problems with tv and On Demand. Bad luck Basildon.

Epping, Loughton & Woodford - On Demand is out as a known issue. Fix date is today (at 8pm) but I have been asked to wait until the 1st of February if it doesn't start working today.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear because the guy, though the most helpful I have spoken to in weeks, wasn't very hopeful of a fix but at least I now have a target fix date.

It all bodes well as I now have a fix date (woohoo) and I got a letter from Richard Branson telling me how wonderful my TV, Phone, VoD, BB and Mobile will be soon (woohoo x2) with Virgin Media. <excited voice> I can't wait... But at this rate I don't think I'll ever see it!

VOD seems to be working intermittently here (LE9). I tried it the other night and it worked, but when I went to show her in doors later the same night it wasn't (much to her amusement!).

Sound good Dranny! I've not heard back from Faults Level 2 yet, I'll probably try calling them again...
Faulty return path causing your VOD problems? What were the symptoms? Were you getting the NDE01 error by any chance?

No i was getting IS002 error which was a return fault apparantly?
regarding my VOD problem in the earlier post , I just received a phone call from NTL and the man asked me to turn off the box and reboot (because he had done a simulation at his end and it was all ok) and to my amazement i have VOD again, sniff sniff.........

TiggerT 22-01-2007 18:36

Re: On Demand not working

Looks like you've been lucky dranny!
I tried calling Faults again as I hadn't heard back from their Level 2.... After checking my account he told me that I'd dialled the wrong number as I'm on a different billing system and that he'll put me through, and put me through to CS! CS told me that Faults work 6 days a week, and it's 4 working days, so I should wait until the end of tomorrow before calling back. *sigh*

IS002 = no interactive setup on account. All they had to do was re-add it =)

Called Faults again. Having been told that they work 6 days a week yesterday, today I'm told that Level 2 work 5 days a week so actually my 4 working days are not over until tomorrow.
Fun 'n' Frolics... :-)

Still not working for me. Was told by faults department that it was a national fault and would be fixed by 31 Jan. Not holding out much hope. Reckon it's not a national fault, but a fault with those who have had TV Drive installed.

Yippeeeeee. My VoD's been fixed now. Thanks to 2nd line support. Sorry to hear about those folk still waiting - but I'm just off to watch a good film (well, an old film then).;)

We've got an onsite tech coming today to try to fix our VOD (NDE01 error). Fingers crossed!

T.

TiggerT 26-01-2007 12:55

Re: On Demand not working

It's fixed! I wasn't home but my wife said that due the the spaghetti wires around our TV, the tech said that the wire in the connector had got stretched. He changed that and added an extension and apparantly we now have VOD again. Woohoo!
