NEW MEMBER - NTL CABLE ENGINEER & x-TELEWEST BB SUPPORT
 

First of all before everyone growls and runs all guns blazin', i decided to join this forum due to the fact that i have been in most peoples solutions and i do hope to be of a big help to everyone on this site. I used to work for Telewest Broadband Technical Support and left after a long while due to the way it was ran, i now work for NTL as a cable installation engineer. I am more than happy to help people with any queries either to do with there bb, pc or telephone or digi tv or help on setting up routers etc for ntl or telewest.

I do hope me joining this site will be of a help and not a chance for everyone to chuck abuse at me :-)

none what so ever, with telewest i worked just outside glasgow doing bb support calls, the company themself were atrocious to work for, calls coming through to us that werent even for our department, cust serv' were so bad when transferring calls and customers ended up in loops goin' from department to department. NTL on the otherhand i dont know, i work for a subcontractor who installs all ntl stuff and who is also contracted to sort cable faults and green cab problems etc.
But i do look forward to using the site, and i do hope i can be of some use to people.

hey docdutch, based around the glasgow area in scotland :-) OH BTW, the guys i work with in my team get the jobs done, cause if we don't finish a job then we don't get paid for that job, just thought i'd pop that we bitty in :-)

Based in Manchester. I work for business as a Support Engineer and Complex Business installation planner anything from 2 meg up to multi site 100 meg VPN services :).

@gaffergump--cheers for the thread link, seems to be quite a few people on here, well as i said before i am cable installation engineer for NTL and used to work for BB support team for Telewest. :lol:

Hi, Happy New Year to you & Family, My problem I bought a new LINKSYS wireless broadband router A+G WRT55AG, I have been unable to get it working, My nephew who knows a little about computers has also failed to get it going, the set up disk does not do what it says on the tin
we managed to put the IP in manualy and it connects for a sort spell then drops out, on to connect again and so on, If you can help we would be very grateful
