Re: Help finding mobo diagram
Could you take it out and get a hi res digi photo of it? I would imagine that we should be able to identify the connections on it from a photo.
If you look real close the hdd and lights connectors are normally in 1 group and should be labelled. (really small though) |
Re: Help finding mobo diagram
I have no means of taking a pic, well nothing of any use :( I can't even see the fcc number, that would give me something at least  still looking though :tu:

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
I thought you had a digi cam bop? What about a few close ups with the phone?

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
Plenty of light helps the pic, the htc cams are not good in low light conditions.

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
Thanks for the manual but, it doesn't actually show what leads go where, only a rough motherboard layout :(

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
Well I would say there isnt a hard drive activity light. The 2 sets of 2 pins will be reset and power on and the 3 pins at the end power light just a guess however

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
My money is that the connectors are as follows
1) Power switch 2) Power LED (This will be the one that looks like a bank of 3 with one pin missing, the green wire going towards the back of the machine) 3) HD LED, red wire to back of case The way to do it is by trial and error, plug in the power switch to the back pair of pins, disconnect the hard drive but leave the monitor on, press the power button, if the fan on the processor spins, you found the power switch, if not try the next pair of pins... Once you have that, try the power LED next, generally the green wire goes to the rear of the machine, but if you don't find a pair that runs that way, try it with the wires reversed, After that, the hard drive led - red wire to the same direction as the green, on the last pair of pins., then reconnect the hard drive |
Re: Help finding mobo diagram
I would just try to boot it with a screwdriver

---------- Post added at 11:06 ---------- Previous post was at 10:18 ---------- Well I thought we had it, connected the power switch leads and hit the button, fans fired up :) pulled the power connected the power led leads, fired up, ..... nothing, the fans don't even turn  tried disconnecting power led and trying only the power switch but nothing, strange :D Down but not beaten, got all day to mess around :tu: |

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
:erm:
Hi all, I was looking for some answers and ran onto this thread. Did you ever found where the plugs went? Im having I think the same problem right now. I cant seem to figure out how to hook up the audio and mic plugs. I went from a GL to a GV and the pins are a little diferent. The diagram that was posted earlier was for the GL . |
Re: Help finding mobo diagram
:welcome:
your best bet, in my experience, is to look at what is printed on the mobo, rather than the diags in the manual ;) |
Re: Help finding mobo diagram
just for future reference the connections for the front panel for the hdd lights and power light and etc for the imperial_gv 20030812 are located next to the jumpers and are labeled in very small print but the connector closest to the jumpers is the power led then if you look on the board there should be a gap then after is the hdd led

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
3 years on, he's probably found what he was looking for.

Re: Help finding mobo diagram
hint why i said future reference
