Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Hello, i just thought id post this on here because i-web used to be pretty strongly related to cable forum.
One of my mates setup a domain with i-web last week, they have heard nothing back (bar from the automated emails at setup) about their domain and its not been setup to resolve to the correct place. He has logged a support ticket on their site but is getting no response.
I feel a bit of a prat because I recomended them to him!!
Does anyone on here know anything about i-web or whats happening with them?

Cheers

DJ

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Well our site is up and the email is working BUT there has been a distinct lack of response for about a month on the support forum
http://forum.i-websolutions.co.uk/
They have had issues with harware recently but as far as I know there is no financial reason why they should be "going to the wall"

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Whilst some of the I-web admins are CF members, CF hasn't used I-web's services for a long while. However the NTHWclan does have their own server hosted alongside the iweb setups and there are currently no problems there.

Has anyone posted questions on i-web's own forum, in addition to the support tickets?

Paul K 05-12-2006 19:59

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Yep, no reply as of 2 weeks ago. Not good enough to be honest and there are a few of us wondering why not one member of I-webs' team has actually taken time to answer questions like why has UK3 mysql been down for 2 weeks without being fixed.

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Well it does seem like its been working for my services, the one time it did go off was for non payment of bills which was resolved within an hour with everything back up.

I'll pass this thread on to kp to see if he can shed any light on the matter but I do know that he does not visit cable forum as often as he did in the past and that he may simply have not noticed this thread.

My sites appear to be up.
I hope nothing is wrong as renewal time is soon,

my i-web hosted sites are working with no problems.

their forum seems to be short on replies, but that is a matter for i-web forum, not cf ;)

I'm surprised, though, Willy & Adam are usually very customer focused

yea my website seems fine too, but a friend set a new one up with them last thursday and it looks like they have just taken the money and ran!! :S

I just signed up this week & set up No Probs....... I'll ask Adam to look into this for you.

i-Web are AWESOME & I always use them :D

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

I am an i-web customer and a bit concerned about lack of responses. During November we kept losing service and once it went out for 4 whole days.

There are a couple of threads about this on the i-web forum and no one has heard from the staff for over 3 weeks now.

As for being on holiday... are there only 2 of them? What if their server crashes again?

Our forum and gameservers on i-web are rock solid......

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Yea my site is fine too and never had any problems with it, but with the forums being dead and no response to support tickets the service seems a bit crappy. This is a real shame because when i setup my site 2 years ago the guys from i-web couldnt be more helpful!!

Cheers

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

It seems to depend which server you're on. UK1 and UK2 seem fine but it is UK3 that's giving all the problems.

Hi Folks soz for the tardiness but as explained on forums i have been relying on a dailup connection through my mobile phone for the kast 5 weeks and after much complaining to BT they ended up having to rewire the area that i live in which has just been completed .

Willie, does this mean you are the only person working at I-Web since no one else answered the queries posted on the I-Web forums ;)

In my opinion this should only be discussed in their forums and has no relevence, here.

- I don't discount noticing Paul has already tried that ;)

and got no response :)

While I really like the guys at i-web, to be honest whether or not they have connection problems is not my concern, nor is it anyone elses. People are paying for a service, and to have to wait 2 weeks for a response is a bit off really - what would have happened if something major had gone wrong?

As I have said before are we not allowed to talk about i web here.
Are you a moderator.
I think they should decide that.

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

You are able to raise any subject you like on CF, provided it doesn't break our rules. However, when talking about another company, person or indeed most things, Cable Forum is exactly that, a forum, independent of such organisations. Thus they do not have to respond here, even when we know representatives do visit us from time to time.

But part of the point is, we have had a response here, and not through the official channels. That tells me something is very very wrong.

no, I'm not a moderator for i-web, but I am a customer, my sites are working, I just think we should calm down. Flaming them in other forums doesn't help, imo :)

Flaming doesn't help much period. But, IIRC i-web gives a discount to CF members, hosts (or used to host) CF, and a fair few members here use i-web for hosting (I'm not one of them, I don't have a web-site). It's not surprising therefore to see a thread here when they appear to be unresponsive to queries on their own forums.

afaik they honour existing contracts, but new ones are not discounted?

I wouldn't know, I've never been a customer (of any hosting company actually). It's not surprising to see a thread here seeing they used to give a discount to CF members though.

Paul 09-12-2006 00:05

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

I don't think the CF offer exists anymore, but those who had it still get the discount.

As for discussing it here, feel free, it's not against any of our rules. :)

Not again :( UK3 has been up and down quite a bit lately and mysql has hardly worked on it.

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Whatever the fault is this time, it's quite wide reaching. Even the nthw clan server is out. That sits on the same datacenter rack as the i-web stuff, but is not actually one of their servers.

The I-web forums are down too so it looks like Willie is about to have a bad weekend ;)

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

This is getting ridiculous. I know things go wrong from time to time but for the last couple of months its seems like every day brings new problems.

I went with them for my own personal site and one for a small shop across the road because they were associated with this forum. Got to the stage now where I can't recommend them and come May when up for renewal will find somewhere else unless a marked improvement between now and then.

Serious enough to take all servers down as well as their own forum lol I blame Willie. ;)
Just been posted on the I-web forum

We experienced a short outage on all I-Web servers today, with a downtime of approx 15 minutes.

This was due to a network related problem with the datacenter.

Although this is out of our control, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

My problem is I can't get to the forums because it rejects my Email addy whenever I try to get my forgotten password sent to me...

Maybe IF willie is 'listening you can help me to remember WHICH password is needed for me to enter my control panel for my site...I'm confuzzled 'cos I've reset it soo many times.

Coggy, PM me your email address and I'll pass on your request to Willie, he might not get back to you straight away though as he has had issues with his BB and has had to put up with dial up for a while.

Less than an hour definately but nothing stated on the I-Web forum again and when I posted after the last outage they closed my thread in favour of an "announcement" that only I-Web team members could post replies to :(

Re: Have i-websolutions gone to the wall??

Just to bring this little topic back.

I posted a support ticket on the 5th December.

I checked back today, no reply.

Cannot access www.bluesandgreys.co.uk

Despite being the owner of the domain, and Iweb have the cheeks to invoice me today for another years worth of hosting.

Hosting what? I cant bloody access my site.

I really think its time I left and went with a company that can answer their customers, it really is a very very poor show for I-web.
