1 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone,
a have asked ebay on numerous occasions what this email is all about, and is ebay sending these messages, I keep getting asked to send the full header info of the email, which I do, and have done more than 10 times, and I keep getting passed over to new people who will help me asking the same question. I wasnt to know if ebay send these emails out. could anyone tell by looking at a screen shot of it? thanks ik |

Strange that it would be in your ebay my messages folder...
Haven't you set up another account then with the same card, because i once set my own account up with my bank card but i'd done it on my mam's already, so i got that same message? Well basically, are you doing any of the things it says? If not, just ignore it:shrug: |

I think it is genuine, it doesn't ask for any details it is just letting him know.
Plus if it was a spoof it wouldn't be marked as from eBay and in his My messages folder. |
Re: can someone help with this, Ebay are shocking
well ebay say it is spam, and say they not sent it, and sometimes they say they did...... can you see my confusion, i keep getting pushed from pillar to post.
not one ebay representative is dealing with it, it gets passed on to others. I have sold one item on ebay, but most of the time, i get these emails if I bid on anything, it is anoying. I ask cause some of you know that my bank details were compromised from some website. and I was getting worried. I get these emails in ebays my messages and to my email which it is set up with ebay. ik |
Re: can someone help with this, Ebay are shocking
It only says it's letting you know, as courtesy, and doesn't require you to do anything so ignore it.
And double check the info in your account to see if any of that email has a point, i.e- email address, high bid amounts...etc |

Another ebay member couldn't make a message in the My messages folder by labelled as from eBay if they tried. If it was sent to his email only then i'd be convinced it was spoof too. Ignore it, i know i'm right but you can all choose to think i don't know anything if you want ;) :D oops: |

I have been told by ebay both that it is spoof and it is not spoof, so who the hell do I believe? I have had this email, even when I have not bid or won any item. and also when I have. this one really has got me stumped. ik |
Re: can someone help with this, Ebay are shocking
If your not sure you can email it to
spoof@ebay.co.uk or .com depending on your nationality. Just forward the whole email to that address, if it is one of their own they will reply to confirm or deny it. |

But i think he already did that... Heard anything back yet OP? |
Re: can someone help with this, Ebay are shocking
Yeah but some of those links can like to spoofed spoof addresses to fool people into a false sense.
Always best to manually type in the known email ;) |
Re: can someone help with this, Ebay are shocking
I had heard back from ebay before I posted this.......
just that they gave me conflicting answers. ik |
Re: can someone help with this, Ebay are shocking
I think the answer is in the text if you read it:
"These activities include using the same card to.. Register an Ebay account using an anonymous email domain such as Yahoo or Hotmail...." Looks like if you have a hotmail or Yahoo account, then they warn you each time the card is used for security. |
Re: can someone help with this, Ebay are shocking
This site is possibly the most informative I've found. I think it's safe to say that the eBay email is a scam. eBay and Paypal do not usually send emails out like the one that you were sent.
