Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
I tend to stay away from web based speed tests as the file is so small you don't really get a true speed test.
Sun, 19 Nov 2006 17:50:18 GMT 1st 512K took 3141 ms = 163 KB/sec, approx 1343 Kbps, 1.31 Mbps 2nd 512K took 3031 ms = 168.9 KB/sec, approx 1392 Kbps, 1.36 Mbps 3rd 512K took 2641 ms = 193.9 KB/sec, approx 1598 Kbps, 1.56 Mbps 4th 512K took 3281 ms = 156 KB/sec, approx 1285 Kbps, 1.25 Mbps Overall Average Speed = approx 1405 Kbps, 1.37 Mbps Same as yours my friend and using the Entanet network. Give this a try and let us know your speed please. http://fuller.zen.co.uk/test/100MB_nonzero.bin |
Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
I'm getting between 160-170 KB/Sec.
I'm on 4 Meg service. What do you think? Cheers |
Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
Yea..just got the same myself, maybe not the best speed test example. I need to find a better one. [ I'll be back] ;)

Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
Try this one, don`t know how reliable it is but it looks pretty good..

Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
Great find dranny.
If I must use a web based test I use http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp or http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/ Still trying to find a good true download test, apologies. |
Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
3 different tests 3 different results???

Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
speeds tests proove nothing anyway. You need to test with a multi threaded download manager and a good server.

Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
so you think your speed loss is down to the 20 meg tests then? No one could have the tests anywhere near me then cuz off easynews I always hit 10 meg and nntp with giganews I always get over 9.Ok today ive had a flakey proxy but nothing that couldnt be sorted

Re: Hooray! for NTL 10mb.....
Ssshhh, don't tell ntl you're getting full speed or they'll flick a switch.
I'm on the 10MB and my speeds for the past two days have been painfully slow. This is the result of a speed test done just before posting here 235 kbps down and 479 kbps up. What's the title of this thread again, Hooray! for NTL 10mb. You're 'aving a laugh. |
