DVD burning problem

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all, having problems burning dvd's, a quick background, upgraded my pc a while back ( thanks Zing ) and haven't been able to burn since, ( not that I blame the upgrade ;) ) I've tried a few different progs, Nero, DVDshrink A120 etc etc, all with nearly the same result and no disc at the end, I thought it might be software so have formatted and re-installed everything, tried Nero again just now and got the same result, posting a copy of the error log, it means diddly to me but may mean something to others.

Thanks for any and all help

Win XP Pro
Intel processor 805 D
1550 mb ram
Liteon dvdrw

Anything else ..... ?

Have you tried different DVD brands? Not only can you get fault DVDs, but you sometimes some dyes won't work with a certain burner period.

Also, does it happen with a CD as well as DVD?

Also, could try at slower burning speed.

I've been getting the same problem for a couple of weeks now (jerky pic, or lack of sound, or both) using DVDsanta and several other programs. GSpot says that files that have burned succesfully before are now non-standard! I have tried rolling back with Xvid and DivX to no avail...

Have tried convertx, same problem, the dvd rom can read disks fine, plays dvd's fine etc etc, just wont write, I'll have a look at updating the firmware.

Sorted, a firmware upgrade has sorted it out The Da Vinci code is on the menu for tonight :tu: question though, could the pc upgrade to duel core have anything to do with it, and could the firmware have been the solution to the duel core upgrade, if it was that ????

and still waiting to hear from HM as to if and when :tu:

For now though, problem solved, greenies on the way :D

Oops read the thread earlier then came back to it later without re-reading the OP.

TT Not installed yet as have not got a Mini SD card yet. Was going to give you a call to do it this aft at work but the mini usb cable that came with the gps device won't allow me to sync to this pc. Maybe its only a charge cable.

Re: DVD burning problem

Might have had something to do with nero version number as well, it took me quite a few attempts to get the right version of Nero so that it did everything. As some version s would only allow me to burn Cds and not DVDs others the oposite and some would plainly not work. I finally found a version which works with XP though.
Maybe may have had some influence.?

Re: DVD burning problem

Try these versions of Nero, after much chopping and changing they worked for me.
Nerovision express Version 2.1.2.13
Nero OEM 6.3.1.25
Nero Media player 1.4.0.22

Working with XP Pro. Trial and error showed these to be the only combination which allowed everything to work.
Hope this helps.
