I went on that site the other day and it had the sky logo below the freeview one and also mentioned digital cable. They must still be in talks with sky and ntl.

Both channels will be available from launch (Monday 16th and Sunday 15th, respectively)

five US and life are already broadcast testing on sat freq 12.422 H names 37 5-1 and 37 5-2

Not listed on mine yet. According to an advert I saw on Five earlier, they're supposed to be on channels 185 & 186.

ntl:telewest channel numbers have no disappeared from the Five Life & Five US sites. Why is this? I hope it will be available on ntl:telewest from launch

skys added them to the EPG already channels 207/209, once again theres nothing on 208, NTL are just gonna be slow to do the update just like the channel numbers .

The channels will be available on launch day - no need to make them visible beforehand really, is there?

some of us like to programme the EPG to change channel for us to record them i Know cable users dont have this option due to the very limited number of days stored in the EPG on the box.

fiveUS have stupidly put the sport on at the same time as the simpsons 7pm luckly a got Two boxes.

I disagree. It's OK for those of us who are aware of the new channels, but not everyone will be. Having the EPG numbers active a few days early, even if just for a "Five US coming soon…" banner (like ITV3, ITV4 and abc1 did) means that people are likely to see them while browsing through the channels.

:blush: :erm: I don't know what I was thinking. I think it's a case of having too much blood in my caffeine circulatory system. :D I don't know what number Five US is supposed to be on then. Although from having looked at it's schedule [on radiotimes site] I can't say I'm really that bothered by not knowing.

As for Five Life, the only thing that looks like it might be interesting is Angela's Eyes.

Life on 149 appeared today - only after a reboot.

US due to be on 148 tomorrow- so i assume another reboot needed then.

I can't understand why the numbers have been changed form the 'NTL' Radio Times nymbers (185/6)

Everything is fine here in SE London. Channel 149 has appeared at 07:00 (that's when my STBs gets some sort of update every morning checking the events logs; although it seems to be a hour out, it says 06:00). I do get a load of 56 SDT Transport Errors: whatever they are)). No reboot was needed. There is no Ch 148, but that starts 2morrow, or Bravo 2 Ch 154.

PS I'm on the BROMLEY Network.

PPS No problems either with Paramount Comedy Channels.

After reboot, 5 Life has moved from 149 to 186 and 5 US has appeared on 185!!!!

Funny but after rebooting, the Five Life channel still stayed on the 149 channel even though it said 186. So I had to move it to the new position myself. Typical.;)

Quite strange - Ive noticed that a few other people have described the problem that I have seen - that Five Life has changed from channel 149 to 186, but remains in the same position (between channels 146 and 150 (or there abouts).

What on earth are NTL doing??

Its also getting annoying that the TV service appears to be becoming increasingly unstable - ie losing programme data and requiring frequent reboots (on all three STBs that we have)!!!! :mad:

Sort it out!!!!!!

After Five US was added to the Guide yesterday (and after Five Live moved from 149 to 186). My STB was running extremely slowly. Sometimes taking over a minute to respond to commands from the remote control, and this is after only having ntl TV for 10 days:mad: Called up ntl, and was told to replace remote batteries. But i know it's not the batteries as the box DOES respond, just long after i press button on remote. Also, the Power light does flash red when pressing a key. And using the volume (and Mute) keys immediately make the appropriate changes to my TVs volume.

I have a Pace 4001 STB. Why are ntl still supplying Pace STBs? I was under the impression they were being replaced by the new Samsung one?

I had to move it on my list last night.

Saw a great program on it last night about people with facial disfigurements and them having surgery. The courage these people showed is a lesson to us all

the channel guilde postition is done when they update the box due to the number being 149 bye mistake it sits strangly enought between were 148 and 150 were. have you changed the non subscribed channels postion if its not on the default settings the channels wont line up again.

just like nat geo channel just stopped being free on ntl. so ive moved that to the bottom of the listings.

its quite simple the live sport/football on five will no longer push of the DIY shows off air because they are on totaly different channels. gone will be the days of a show changing time shifts all this results in more viewers.
The five US channels will expand as more US shows are avalible, which channel do you think Prison break season 2 will be on ?.
Once the fiveUS channel pays for itself i expect the US sport to move accross or be on both (US sports are not cheap) all of sunday night is taken up on them (even more if ya include the games on interactive).baseball,basket ball, Nascar, NFL, NHL,

P,s five is only doing what ITV did but ITV made mistakes and made ITV2 more popular than ITV1.
