Lara or EA
 

Now that the Ashes has put me in the mood for some cricket the question is which game to get, EA Cricket 2005 or Brian Lara International Cricket.

Has anyone played either of these? Which one is the best one to go for?

I'm sort of swaying towards the EA one because it has national teams and the 20/20 cup etc, Lara only has international teams.

I may buy both and flog one on Ebay.

i have played both games and i can say that brian lara international cricket is the best out of the two, the way that bowlers ball and batsman react is extremely authentic as well as how shots are played.

its not buggy like the EA game is :erm:

Better yet, get both in game and then return one for no charge under there 10 days return policy :tu:

I have the EA one on the xbox and it is very hard to bat (i dont know about the PS2 and Pc versions). I would go for Brian Lara because it is easier to play, although the graphics on the EA one are slightly better.

Bought both tonight. Got them in game and the girl mentioned the 10 day return so I'll play them for a few days each and then return one.

Afaik the game 10 day no quible does not apply to pc games you can take them back and change them but you cant get money back(well it does not here anyway)

That is good as it wasnt mentioned what format.I have no idea if there out on the pc i spose if I used consoles it would have been obvious to me :)

HHMMM big problem with Lara, teams don't chase runs in the ODI's. They play it like a test match, they don't get the quick single when its available. Makes it really easy to beat them.

I think I'll keep both games, Lara to play test matches on and EA to play ODI and 20/20.

i find batting almost impossible on test status in lara, i dunno what i am doing wrong though, should I press the direction in the same way as the ball is going ?

Press the direction where you want the shot to go. What is your timing like? Are you moving in the crease?

Another thing that annoys me about Lara is that, AFAIK, you can only throw to the wicket keeper, and you can't throw directly at the stumps. This makes run outs trickey to get.

Right I got my batting sorted out. I got my test career man up and running and he doing good, his bowling getting better. And my batting now reaches the 200 for Village setting. Gonna move to County once I win the world cup on village. Just the timing needs to be perfect and then I got everyone lumping 6's and 4's :)
