New Look BBCi On NTL
 

Just a quite note to say that the new look bridges have launched on NTL. They are still only available on BBC One and Two and whne accessing content the service looks like the Telewest service with the small TV picture in the top left. I should have some screenshots shortly.

There was a test being carried on 926 BBC One England on Langley where there were some streams testing - on for the 10 o'clock news and another which had the Eastenders Xtra bar appearing after a few seconds.

Like I said I'll have some screenshots very soon :)

Interestingly when you select the normal options on the test nothing happens so something else could be coming soon :)

They're exactly the same as the Telewest ones, but without the News Multiscreen option.

I think that needs a software update though...

Well its stopped working for me now. But I have a mini guide problem where its missing certain channels, but when I type in the channel number its still there. It could be a network problem :)

Quick question...I have the same problem as a few people (in Nuneaton area) - my box 9/10 freezes or says that The option is not currently available and to try later. A Reboot fixes this, but this, in my opinion, is not acceptable.

Can people confirm that this is in fact 'just NTL' rather than something wrong here

Reboot your STB, switch it off at the plug socket for about 15 seconds and switch it back on, wait for it to stabilise and the starting message to disappear and then check the guide, your channels will be back.



Give NTL a call, it sounds like your STB needs to be re-added to the UDS, they will escalate the call to 2nd line and it will most likely take a couple of days if the DMC in Langley have to still carry out the work, but it will be sorted for you.

Can I just confirm that this is not a regular problem for any other NTL users?

I was sure that almost EVERYONE else was having this problem :D:D

Well its now stopped working for me this morning - they must be upto something :)

Oh and that channel problem... the STB decided to re-order the channels for me using the Favourites option. Its all sorted now :tu:

Oh dear...

Some bad news for you Bromley people. There is a problem with the current software which means that the new BBCi code breaks so you won't be seeing it for some time.

I've tried my BBCi and it works ok. That's a Bromley area. It's like the photos shown except that the small tv picture is on the right. :)

Same here man, only tried it during eastenders and it seemed to work in less than 3 seconds of pressing the red button. :D

I have the "press red" icon all the time now on bbc1 and 2 though...

I press red, select the weather or whatever, it says loading and then hangs...

Whenever I go to interactive it asks me to enter a 4 digit pin - I have no clue what this is .....

Sounds like womething may not have been activated properly on your account. Try giving them a call to get it sorted.

My BBC interactive paid NTL service does not work box just sits there saying please wait. I kept my free view box and that works perfect with multi screens aswell. As far as I am concerned compared to sky and free view NTL doesn;t really have anything that you can call interactive. It doesn't even carry the channel 701 and 7o3 from the free view box so you can't take part in the BBC interactive programs. I really wish they would stop advertising the interactive sevice.
