Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
Was its route going anywhere near the White House by any chance?

Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
Well a name that is on the USA terrorist watch list. And its not like them to make mistakes is it
Strange how none of the US carriers get diverted (at a not inconsiderable cost) while it happens to other carriers every few weeks. Not that I'm suggesting anything underhand like them wanting to keep people on their toes of course... |
Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
So the plane had been in the air for 6hrs before they noticed. I cant believe these people sometimes. Are they there to make us safe or just create news items

Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
I am not a big fan of these no-fly lists, but if that's what they think they got to do, then that's their choice.
Personally, I am against all this hype. Instead of all this drama, it would be better to have the plane shadowed by 2 f16s, and let it follow its course until it does something wrong, where the F16s come into play. Once the place is up in the air, if there is someone on board you don't want, then there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. Diverting the plane on an off-chance is a bit costly and not really inefficient. I can't really see how forcing the plane to land early will avoid a hijack. |
Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
It won't. But it will keep people on their toes that the nasty terrorists are out to get them.
Just think back to that Senator in Farenheit 9/11. "People will do anything if they are scared." All it takes is a few off these every few months to keep people edgy and they won't question things. |
Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
I thought the list was for airlines and goverments to see?? So how on earth did this person get past all those checks. It makes you think?

Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
Is this the same list that had Yusuf Islam on it as a terrorist suspect, because the Israelis said he was? So you're in the position that people's freedom of movement can be curtailed because of suspicion and smears? That'll protect the Free World, won't it?*
*And of course it makes the Islamic community *really* comfortable that there isn't a campaign to target and persecute them, doesn't it? |
Re: Breaking news : Air Tour France plane forced to divert
...and I'm sure that any terrorist capable of hijacking a plane hasn't ever thought of using a fake passport

Another one? http://www.fox23news.com/news/world/...9-328BE2F124B6 Guess Bangor will be doing all right out of landing fees for a while yet.
EDIT: The US has said the guy they thought might have been on the plane yesterday is, and I quote, "a seriously bad actor". Fantastic (opens the door for Nugget et al!). |
