Unless you give a legitimate reason for this, you are unlikely to get much help. :)

Re: ntl tv

why are you trying to operate it without it being connected to the cable??

Re: ntl tv

lol think it's a bit obvious myself, he wants to chip his box so he needs to modify some settings in the engineer's menu, if connected to the cable network without talkback disabled he could be found out... simple as.

What, like being to see pictures on channels that they're not paying for?

If there's something wrong witht the picture quality, ask ntl to fix it....the engineers menu is called exactly that - for engineers use. :dozey:

Re: ntl tv

Caroline, it's not worth playing about with the engineers menu. Unless you know what you are doing, it's easy to c*ck things up, and possibly lose your service. If you lose your service and the engineers finds you have altered something you shouldn't, you will be charged a £50 call out fee to fix it.

And you also said you wanted to see it on your tv (as opposed to your friends who apparantly the samsung box belongs to).

You got a samsung stb on the sly and are trying to chip it, aren't you?

Just read your reply above - your mates are dodgy, fraudulent and thieves if that's that case.
