bbc interactive problem, sick of it
 

hi,
Well whenever I see the "press red" on the BBC channels, i press it, it waits a second and then goes back to the on now bar...

this has been going on for months and is the same even after a reboot.

samsung box, is this just me?

hmm... interesting...

what software version do you have on the box?

press page up, then page down, then blue when you are watching normal tv. the network status page will appear, which will tell you the version.

I've given up trying to use the interactive features with NTL (also on a Samsung box), they've never worked.

I never got them to work when I was with NTL, but since switching to the competition, I realise just what I was missing. In particular, I've been highly impressed with the Beeb's interactive stuff - especially during the recent snooker tournament. Probably not what NTL users want to hear though.

Yes well I have always got mine to work with BBC interactive. I have a Pace 1000+ box. It's never failed me yet. ;) :)

I dont want to scare you or give you a heart attack, but NTL had full snooker BBCI recently:Yikes:, they carried the multiscreens, extra tournaments and interactive scoreboards that were on sky.

I get the interactive here on a samsung. 2 years running with the snooker interactive. :shrug:

it works on my samsung too, if you press the interactive button on your remote, do you get an error message?

Possibly, though not all ntl users actually care much about the interactive side. ;)

Hello to people who try and get the snooker on bbc 2 to you ever get a error code of un500 .Also do you loose the sound on the channel ?

Used the (STB front panel) OK/LEFT/TV combination many times (DiTV1000) - it usually got Interactive back until the next foulup.

No sound, no control menu - yes, a typical failure mode, take your pick from many more, including the UN500 (or was it 400) error, the neverending waiting spin, or the fallback to TV.

For BBCi, you want Freeview or Sky ... it's a rhyme to remember!

Election multi-screen is bust too. Did nothing at all at first. After a reboot it goes to the menu, pops up an error box every few seconds and there's no sound. Well done NTL. When do we get to vote these jokers out?

same with ours... I first tried it on our old Pace box about a year or so ago - didnt work then either. I tried it once on the Samsung box (not long after we received it if I remember correctly) and it failed to work then too, so I just ignore that little red button thing at the corner - I dont even notice it's there (until the kids ask if they can press it and I cant help but notice it then :mad: )
Havent checked software, might check it later if I think on... cant say I know of anything through interactive that would be of use to me to be honest though... I just wanted to be nosey :p:

Same happens on mine for what its worth!

Samsung, press red on BBC, wait couple seconds, back to now and next.

with me as soon as I even look at the red button (old pace box) the bloody thing just hangs and i have to give it a "friendly" hard reset so have to dig behind it and pull out the power and leave it for a minute to have it settled again, then also what I got quite often is that I cant use the Browse function or that I just dont get any info about a program.

oww well its something you have to get used to I must say.
